What's amazing about those four RPGs (2 Fallouts, PS:T, Arc) is that they manage to host a large, detailed world with deep lore, factions and complex personal intimate interactions. It's the "micro-macro" Bethesda boasted about in Skyrim, only Black Isle and Troika actually delivered it (and without boasting).

It's like some kid decided to slap together a best of list, so he put PST, BG2 and Fallout at the top because his dad told him you're supposed to do that but then he just bunged in everything he played recently and when he ran out of ideas his more nerdy and less retarded mate filled in the gaps.

It's like a list of best ever movies with Citizen Kane and Godfather at the top and then all the rest not older than 1990s.

Sounds a bit like Codex's list.

Shit list, I rate it 9/11

Actually, 5/11 because FO2 instead of FO1.

Fallout: New Vegas is the one I never could fully enjoy... yeah, the writing is ok, and there are some areas like the vaults that are really cool.... but fuck that combat. Not only is shit and VATS is shit, but I can't get over firing two explosive rounds of a anti-tank gun at the head of a man and that taking 10% of his hit points. He doesn't even feel it.

Yeah, I know that a lot of games do that, but New Vegas is the one that makes is the more obvious. Especially since you can backpedal.

I'm sorry, but how is Morrowind's world amazingly detailed? I don't see amazing detail anywhere, on any level. It's a large world, filled with nothing much.
This statement tells us a lot more about you than about the game.

Yep. And if New Vegas was ported to say the FOnline engine it would be the 3rd best fallout game....

Morrowind still number one in my list. Unmatched open world in terms of imagination, art design and atmosphere. Unrivaled lore, it is pretty much a complete setting and I do include Kirkbrides stuff and even out of game lore in it because it is canon and a part of the universe. Anyone that disagree read the entire arcane library and come again. Great spreadsheet character creation and progession with as much or little autism as you want. All the tools to make your character a peasant or a god, with plenty of a world to live in, fleshed out factions. Uses dice. Good quests that doesn't do meta crap like magical compass markers but lets you be your character and people will provide you with actual directions to interesting areas. Great crafting and many equipment slots. Basically its the best sandbox rpg ever made.

I think Morrowind is awful. Art and world design were better in Gothic 1/2.

Warband is rated criminally low.

Fuck that JRPG cuhrazzy shit, I want my fantasy elements to be subdued and dripping with atmosphere instead of just weird for the sake of weird. And those armors :retarded:

Don't get me wrong, I like Morrowind, but Gothic did atmosphere much better.

Ah yes, who doesn't remember the monastery and the desert level from Gothic 1? I'm glad we have an expert video game historian among us.

lol Syberia with static environments

the only as good looking games as morrowind in 2002 were fucking Silent Hill 2, No One Lives Forever 2 and maybe Mafia and only the last one was open world.

thats fucking ugly not subdued and dripping with atmosphere

lol at gothics 1 atmposhere. the ony faggots braging about its atmopshere in 2001 were 15 years old kids. "lol you are prisoner dude, you can beat someones ass and than steal his stuff. lol you can smoke pot in that 3rd camp. DUDE SMOKE THE FUCKING POTE IN PRISON. YOU COULDNT GIVE LESS FUCKS THAN THIS. YOUR PARENTS CANT DO SHIT"

I am not saying that gothic 1+2 were shit. they were fucking great but not because of art/world design, graphics, story.
