Air Gallet

I told myself that I should start playing all the games that I have in backlog, but once again I failed. Air Gallet is one of my favourite shooters, with a good balanced difficulty and giant explosions all around.

Got really bored with the Den, decided to just start shooting thru Momma's Diner window.

octavius how do you win these battles without casualties? Sleep+Resurrection?

Expert Resurrection is pretty much the only way to win difficult battles without any casualties.
Against the Nagas Berserk with expert Fire Magic should work too.
But I prefer Earth magic due to Slow and Town Portal in addition to Resurrection. It's rather a shame that it's so much better than the other magic skills...

Zealots are really strong, as they are of Superior Quality, and being Medium Infantry they are not penalized by rugged terrain.
That's one of the best armies to fight in a non-open terrain.

:takemyjewgold:

Their only downside is the relatively weak armor, so concentrated fire will wear them down eventually, but before that happens you should be able to close the lines.
But yeah, not necessarily when fighting against the AI.

Boogie Wings

It's one of those arcade games that is hard to find on the top lists, which is really strange. At first it may look like a typical shooter, but our flying weapon of destruction can use a grappling hook as well. And if we there are too many enemies we can continue fighting on foot. After a while we find a friendly horse and continue onward. Whatever you do, you need to keep going onward, and the game doesn't really care what you choose. There is a lot more vehicles that we can use, and considering it is one of the longest arcade games (LP's are not lying, almost 47 minutes!), it shows how much effort was put into BW. I'd also like to mention, that there are parts, where we are on foot and need to infiltrate a building / vehicle. It's nice equivalent of another stage boss fight and it takes a lot effort to finally be done with them.

Great and charming pixel art, funny boss fights and overall top quality makes it truly a hidden gem. It's like a Parodius mixed with Metal Slug combined with talent. I recommend playing it during the winter for awesome Christmas level.

playing through SH1 and SH2 for the first time are still some of my fondest gaming memories. sh3 was too "rusty" in aesthetic, though i still liked it.

Is that film grain standard in Silent Hill 2? Can't remember.
SH2 has grain, but this specific noise I've added in post. Vanilla filter has tiling seams on higher resolutions (looks better in motion than on screenshots). Sometimes it also leaks all over the letterboxing. I think I matched vanilla res (a/b) and official bullshots (a/b) fairly closely.
