DefJam101 the Popamole in the Shadowbane Emulator has found the Incline. Are you tough enough to take it?

Shadowbane is a PvP-focused MMO from 2003 based around creating lots of characters, building cities, and burning down other people's cities. Been playing for a couple weeks now. Population seems solid, I'd say there's 1000-1200 people playing during prime time.

Game plays vaguely like EVE, only on foot and with less aspergers. Check it out. Or not.

Interesting, quite interesting.
How does it play on the emulator?
I played Shadowbane for a while before and when it turned free.
Not bad overall, pretty entertaining game.

Edit: Are mages still fucking end all cannons?

NPC guards are not implemented yet, so players have to manually defend their cities at all times. Doors are bugged (you can run right through them) so no one builds them and you need to glitch your way in and out of player cities. The economy is a little bonkers in this phase of beta. Otherwise, the game is fully functional.

Server stability is great. In two weeks I've only seen one mass disconnect, even with 3+ banes ocurring at the same time.

No, not at all. Solo pvp is slightly unbalanced as scouts are the only class able to see invisible (and thus the only truly viable solo class) but the game isn't about soloing, anyway.

Bump.

Server wipe on September 19th followed by true open beta starting. NPC guards are live, open cities live, 10 minute global announcement before disc runes spawn (read: giant fights), level up by killing players, plus other cool stuff. Also, they switched to the Dalgoth mapset, which is (imo) much better than the others.
