I might be mistaken, but didn't the 15$ tier include the soundtracks for the first two games? Not that they aren't available on youtube, anyway...

Well i apparently don't have backerkit account because the 'confirmation email' is not appearing. Is this shit invite only? Because it's asking the 'associated kickstarter account' but remember: the codex made the payment. I'm checking the codex registered email, which is the same as the kickstarter one.

Well fuck this noise anyway, i only backed 15$ so no rewared here. Maybe that is the reason, not registered peons yet because no game digital download available yet.
You should get he email regardless and it would probably ask you to make a backerkit account. It might take them a few days to get all the emails though.

SR4E to a lesser degree as well.

Probably to higher, because 4E's Matrix rules were fucking retarded and broken.

Bonus points if the decker docks at the same time some wise-ass wizard asshole goes into the astral spehs while the rigger drives off in his Benz

Add in two or three drones for extra fun. :negative:

At least the wizard and the drone fight in the same area as the meatspace plebs. (well maybe not the wizard, but it's usually possible to have him be with everyone else). The decker OTOH is a special little snowflake who gets a world of his ow. With tons of special rules. Running at superspeed. So you take half the session to entertain a single player while everyone else raids the fridge or play another game. Srsly. fuck deckers.

I pledged $1 directly to their KS and $15 here, but my backerkit account only shows the $1 pledge. It's likely screwed up because I used the same email in both places.

Edit: found it now

Shadorwun: Hong Kong Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Pledged $15, haven't gotten any SR:HK backerkit emails through my paypal email address or one used to register here.

Don't think it has anything to do with emails. I used the same one too.

Actually, wait a minute...how did I get that extra pledge on BackerKit? I gave $5 to the Codex campaign, not $15.

Did I just get an extra copy of the game by mistake? Has this happened to anybody else?

Got the e0mail too I have two copies now a 25$ from the KS pledge and a 15$ one which I guess is free one from the original KS,these guys are generous

Got bored and left

Here’s to hoping that the combat gets smoothed out a bit. There was always this slowness to the combat and moving around in Returns and Dragonfall that made it feel awkward. You click, a slight delay before it registers and then another delay before the action is taken. Then you have people jogging around in combat, softballing fireballs and casually raising their weapons to take a shot. Drove me nuts in how it killed the pace of the combat and diluted the sharp Shadowrun tone. It’s hard to feel tense about the combat when the people fighting are just kind of blasé about it. Not sure if this was a side-effect of being designed with tablets in mind, but the Gaichu animation has me a bit worried. Also hoping for an AI that uses its AP better and doesn’t run around across the battlefield like a headless chicken.

Not worried about the adventure part of the gameplay. Personally, I would have liked to see a more open-ended approach with a large emphasis on scouting out the location, preparing the right tools and using the right favours, with less emphasis on levelling up. However, they’re good at what they do right now and further refining that approach should still result in a good game.

Why would someone design such a pathological system? How come the devs didn't see that exact situation coming? I mean it's been a problem with every stealth character since the beginning of the RPGs. Stealth characters can go when normals can't so if they do the rest of the players get bored and if they don't they are not using their potential to it's full extent. Did they fix it in the latest edition?

They've put Matrix jerks into the same initiative order as everyone else, no more "lol I get to go 3 times for every one of your turns" (that was done away in previous edition even), though they still get big ass initiative modifiers just for being jacked in. Other than that, no, you're still expected to juggle astral, meatspace and Matrix, that's just the nature of the system - specialists operating in their field of expertise.

Shadowrun was developed in the late '80s, that's before the idea that a game system should be crafted to enable the kind of gameplay or story you want had gained widespread acceptance. Back then RPG systems were just a collection of rules to make things happen, it was all up to the players and GM to make a good game out of it.

The latest edition of Shadowrun does attempt to fix the decker by turning hacking attemtps into a few skill rolls instead of a separate dungeon crawl, and allowing for wireless hacking so that the decker can fuck with the enemy's equipent or the environment during combat scenes.

Glad to hear that. Now I might pick up the game some day.
