Actually I already bought it the day after TotalBiscuit demoed it on Youtube. It's a really cool game even though it's in alpha, pretty much what Gratuitous Space Battles meets Mechwarrior would be like.

Care to tell some more about game? I'm wondering if it's a buy worthy game, wonder how the final will be and what will offer in terms of galaxy etc.

Buying an alpha?

Nigga please

In truth, what is already implemented is very polished. I've also had no bugs and no CTDs, and performance with max settings is flawless. It's already been worth the 10 rapedollars it cost.
That video certainly does make it look quite good, I especially like the way the ships move and fire, I'll definitely consider it.

Would you happen to know what the system reqs are? I have an old CPU which doesn't have SSE2 and most games today require that.

So what are the differences between this and Space Pirates and Zombies?

space game, better? I always call everything with space ships a space sim  unless it's homeworld or a side scroll shooter.

In SPAZ you go to point B system from point A and do boring same 5 quests over and over.

This according to devs will have sandbox galaxy proceduraly generated with additional things which i don't remember and you can read about on their site ( rpg elements too)

Impossible to find keygen/crack for this shit. It's like the devs have scoured the web and deactivated all the links and torrents.

So it's like Pirates! in space? If the piracy, mining, trading and so on is well implemented, I'm in. If it's just an afterthought, I can't muster up much wood for this...

It's mission-based though, not free-roaming from what I've gathered. Kinda sucks a bit.

It's nothing, yet. The devs seemingly listen to feedback though, they'll change the command system due to negative feedback, so maybe other stuff may change.

Why do the ships always fire thrusters even when they're moving at the same speed in the same direction? This is speesh, not the motherfucking high seas.

I Won't play a speesh game without proper speesh physics! Even SPAZ was better than this shit.

That doesn't sound any different to SPAZ.

Think of the actiony part of Starfarer as a 2D Mechwarrior, compared to SPAZ's more arcadey style. Positioning is super important, each weapon has its own hardpoints, ranges, travel times, and you have to see the grid of each of them at once. You also have to manage your Flux, like you would heat the MW games, and there's more of an emphasis on big ships than in SPAZ; you can't pilot fighters at all in Starfarer. I'd get into more of it, but just watch TotalBiscuit's video for more detailed impressions.

Are there any plans of making this a continuous universe game instead of missions only?

afaik the next update should be soon enough, it will add the basic sandbox into the game.
