Do we live in a universe where it's impossible to have games that focus on different things?

If we do, and I had to choose one, I would pick multiplayer. There are great stories in books and movies, but there's nothing close to multiplayer in video games.

I agree that we don't need multiplayer and that we should yearn for great stories, but gameplay should always come first.
