Blizzard RTS compilation. Some hate em, some love em but everybody plays em.
Relic RTS games. Dawn of War, Company of Heroes and its sequels.
Since year 2000 a little known game called Sudden Strike started a wave of more tactic/team games focused on gameplay with no resource management and only focusing on fighting part of the game. Blitzkrieg and Codename Panzers series are one of my favorites of that sub genre.
When it comes to turn - based combat there's Kings Bounty: the Legend and its 78 expansions, Blackguards is a recent favorite and as someone else mentioned Disciples II is something you dont wanna miss.
There's shit load more but its enough for now.
As a last tip EA released some of its early Command and Conquer games for free, totally worth checking out as it doesnt cost anything and those games sold in millions when they were new.

lol well yea u guys took the time to recommend these games i gotta put money where my month is and actually buy them. its gonna take me some time to actually play these games good thing i sold my baby mama for the money, ill let u kno my impressions of them. wont do a review tho dont have enough knowledge to do it right yet.
