The viglink wrapper that tracks the activity of codexers and makes URLs we paste link to things like this:

Code:
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_14460449619388&key=d26aa463ebba8cc5ad2f5d735aae0dae&libId=igaxrfm601000ft4000DA9wfh6j6d&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rpgcodex.net%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fthreads%2Frefugees-invade-germania-migration-period-chapter-ii-du-is-a-depressed-cretin-reply-if-you-agree.102247%2Fpage-190&v=1&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Fworld-australia-34654629&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rpgcodex.net%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fforums%2Fpolitics-god-the-wealth-of-nations.57%2F&title=Refugees%20invade%20Germania%2C%20Migration%20Period%20Chapter%20II(DU%20is%20a%20depressed%20cretin%2C%20reply%20if%20you%20agree)%20%7C%20Page%20190%20%7C%20rpg%20codex%20%3E%20It%27s%20finally%20Thursday&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.com%2Fnews%2Fworld-australia-34654629

It's kind of sluggish. When you're on a mobile device using limited internet speeds, it makes pages time out.

Can we have the spyware removed for patrons pls? It's not so much the spying on our clicks that's bothersome. Just that it's making my broswer hang.

Why would you risk accessing the Codex anywhere but behind the locked doors of your home fully self-sufficient subterranean dwelling?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's no evil tracker/spyware, etc. Viglink just affiliates outgoing links for the Codex.

It still makes the site hang when I'm checking it from my mobile device. :P

Like I said, it's not an issue of privacy for me. It's one of usability.

Due to the continuing popamole threat, certain steps must be taken to insure that users access the Codex from a sufficiently appropriate device. We must maintain the integrity of our user base.

if you read this thread's title on the general forum list, it looks like it says "dicktracker"

While on the subject of phones, since yesterday I can't access codex on my phone, tried clearing cache and cookies and using different browser but same deal. It simply doesn't load any of the boards, threads or posts:

Anybody else having the same problem? I can't take a shit while this persists.

EDIT: It's because of the ads fucking shit up.
