No, I mean you're trying too hard with this "Pop music? Heh, no decline for me, thank you; I only listen to music from the Edo period :smug:" shtick.

Anyone knows that Youtube channel, where some dude is dressed like a japanese teenage idol (that means dressed in skirt etc.), where he makes his own covers for japanese music etc.

I mean, he really fucking tricked me. There was this video where you couldn't see his face, only his shoulders and below. I mean, I felt a morning wood, but when I watched another of his vids too see her/his face, I was shocked in horror.

Its not a shtick, i literally can't think of any music written in Japan that isn't complete fail, with the exception of traditional artists like Yokoyama, who were influenced by modern classical music in the first place, so i'm not even sure whether the complexity of this music has anything to do with traditional Japanese music at all. Even in terms of monocle art, we have composers like Takemitsu, who's language is so entrenched in the avant-guarde its pretty much pointless to even bother to evaluate it.

I remember that there was this J-pop or rock (whatever) group, and they had this really gory music video. There was a censored version, and original, and believe me, original was like a compilation of one of the SAW movies (in terms of gore) or probably even more.

No idea about J-pop stuff, but Japan has had one of the best psychedelic scenes in the world, starting with Les Rallizes Denudes in the 60s.

Night of the Assassins is one of the best psychedelic noise rock songs ever. I used to have about 50 of their albums but I lost them when my hard drive crashed a little while ago. They released material for a period of about 30 years and every once in a while new stuff surfaces. Probably one of the best Japanese groups of all time. Also one of their bass players was involved in an airplane hijacking. Awesome.

Satori Part V from Flower Travellin' Band's 1971 Satori album. Flower Travellin' Band is probably the most well known Japanese psychedelic band from this era and their Satori album is one of the best. I think they released something new a couple years ago too but I haven't listened to it.

Ginbae's Anne of Green Gables from their 1976 self-titled album (and only release :( ) is more hard rock and glam than psychedelic but is one of the most obscure classics out there. I'm not really into proto-metal or whatever, but this is seriously a good album with very dynamic songwriting. Really worth checking out.

It takes time, but once you get over Michio Kurihara's terrible singing, White Heaven is one of the most rewarding Japanese psychedelic bands out there. This song is from an album that was released in 1992, but he's still active and plays with Boris a lot.

Boris is the biggest Japanese psych band and they're super active. In fact, I think they released 3 albums last year. Naki Kyoku is my favorite Boris song, from their 2003 album Akuma no Uta. It's actually a take on Rod Stewart's In a Broken Dream.

If you're interested in Japanese rock and psychedelic, check out Julian Cope's Japrocksampler.

You are dismissing all of Japanese music as shit. That means you have such abysmally bad taste in music that you shouldn't even be talking about the subject.

There is nothing that needs to be proven here. You are the one who is wrong.

It's completely irrelevant that this is a joke thread started by a drunk person.

No proof is required. You are wrong. You have bad taste. You probably have some kind of brain damage too.

Don't know much about AKB48 but I like this recent song.

One of the more cute and amusing pieces. Also if you have white kids in your PV you have it made.

Sound like strangled cats, but no doubt about it these kpop bitches are fucking immaculate. fatties and ethnics seem to be avoided like the plague.

As a legs man this choreography is most enjoyable, as some of these tarts have legs reaching up to their fucking armpits.
