Titus' Interplay's re-release of Titus' Titus:

I had a pirated copy of this game when I was a kid. I remember in 1996 or so it started flashing a message whenever you ran it - something like "WTF, you're still playing this game?". It'd be fun if that's still in.

I was playing Titus like crazy on my father's Amstrad PC1640 back in the early 90s. I still remember some of the codes you used in order to teleport to specific levels and not have to replay it from the start, but despite that I never really finished it I think.

Who's releasing it on Steam? Is it Herve Caen's ultimate attempt at reviving Interplay?

I wish they used the original French artwork for the game's cover art:

Reigning theory seems to be that he's trying to maximize his intellectual property's value in order to find a buyer.

Did anybody play Inquisitor? It's %70 off. Setting looks interesting and I heard it's a long game, that's why I am interested.
The game uses a shit ton of text, while 90% of it actually doesn't matter. You ask NPC about how is it going, and he'll throw at you an A4 list of text. And you will have to search for clues in all these seas of graphomania.
Combat system is underwhelming too. Basically, a potion consuming simulator.
All in all, it's up to personal preferences. The game has its good points, but it's up to you whether you will be able to sustain everything else.

I reviewed Inquisitor for a games magazine back when it was released in 2012. It was launched as a "hardcore RPG that harkens back to the good old days of the genre", around the time the whole Kickstarter thing was really entering its craziest popularity. I now see that it was first released a few days before the Pillars of Eternity kickstarter was launched, coincidentally.

It's main problem was the rather broken character development system and the also broken and unforgivingly difficult combat that forced you to spend lots and lots of hours constantly going back and forth between dungeons and town centers to replenish your potions. And combat is almost two thirds of the game, essentially, so you'll do this back and forth ALL THE TIME. It almost feels like the developers tried to introduce Diablo-like combat in a Baldur's Gate-like RPG, but failed miserably.

And, yeah, as mentioned above, the constant walls of mostly unnecessary text.

It does have its merits, though. Its overall atmosphere is excellent, the world is dark and cruel like a world filled with dark magic and heresy should be, there's the occasionally decent choice-consequence in quests and the game's 3 different classes even have their own unique quests and storylines (each character class joins a different order, like a Paladin group for the melee fighter class or the Thieves Guild for the rogue class or whatever, and they do quests to advance in the order's ranks and further their agendas).

Definitely not a game for everyone, in general. If someone manages to look past the frustrating combat and the walls of text, they'll enjoy themselves. If not, they'll ragequit and uninstall within the first few hours.

I've very recently completed this game and I'd say that it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for something deep, complex or very challenging then this probably isn't the game for you. However, if you're happy to play a fairly standard action RPG with an interesting setting and an engaging story, then I think it can provide some fun.

Personally, I thought the combat had some interesting skills and spells and the boss battles presented some challenge without descending into pure frustration (although I'm not particularly good at these sort of games, so depending on your ability, you may find it to be a walk in the park!). The best part for me were the characters and setting, which had some shades of grey and moral dilemmas, rather than being one of clear cut, black-and-white, good or evil.

Overall I enjoyed my play through, which took approximately 23 hours to complete and worked flawlessly on Windows 7 with an Xbox 360 controller.

If you want files to boot Ultima V Lazarus and VI mods then sure.
Otherwise you might get poisoned with depression and boredom one hour in.
