This one is nice time waster, swear it was once sold at like 90% discount.

Back in 't3h day,' yes it was sold at 90% off -- when the sales were great. It and Puzzle Quest 2 are solid time waster light-RPG turn-based combat games.

Warlock 2 is the best modern fantasy 4x if you get the Renaissance mod.

Absolutely this. The mod turned the game in such a goddamn blast.

Endless Legend is interesting, I admire some of the mechanics but I can't love it. Don't love the art style, don't love the combat, something about its vibe just doesn't jive with me. But I bought it for peanuts and I played a few games, it's fine.

King of Dragon Pass is discounted (not discounted on GOG). So is Silent Storm (which is, oddly, slightly more expensive on GOG).

Slasher's Keep, procedurally generated first person dungeon crawler with Dark Messiah-like physical combat and interesting cartoon graphics. Coming soon to Early Access:

Old (2015) but more meaty trailer:

You might have seen this one in the Greenlight thread few years ago. Good to see it's alive I guess.

So I've been playing with my first purchase of this sale, Lords of Waterdeep... still learning it but I'm liking it, it's a very peculiar board game with interesting choices to make as the game unfolds.
I also have Talisman: Digital Edition (get it!) and I'm starting to simply accept the fact that I love this kind of games: sleek design, meaningful effects, flavor everywhere.

So I'm now thinking of adding:
Race for the Galaxy (-30% but cheap enough to begin with)
Elder Sign: Omens (-60% and apparently it already includes all the expansions).
Did anyone try them?

Haven't tried them, but Lords of Waterdeep is pretty fucking good. I think the expansions really add to the gameplay well

Thus endeth my quest for this sale:
Lords of Waterdeep
Race for the Galaxy
Elder Sign: Omens
Also spent about $10 for the remaining DLCs of Tomb Rider and Rise of the Tomb Rider.
And added another $10 for the Nova Missions of Starcraft 2. Someday, perhaps, I'll play them. Still have to finish the main game.
Can't have half-stuff.
:negative:
Total expense around 50€.
More than enough.
I'll keep an eye for a decent sale of Warlock 2 + DLCs, since various esteemed Codexian collegues say the Renaissance mod brings it close to Master of Magic. :salute:

Isn't there a Race for the Galaxy game that's both free and has incredibly good AI?

The steam reviews say the AI is very good.
But obviously it's not free...
I'm firing it up now, of course I don't know how to play yet so I can't comment further on it.

Just bought AOW1, Shadow Magic and AOW 2... As well as AOE2HD with all the extra campaigns (which I missed somehow in the past).
All games I played way back when, so may as well get them on steam again.

Shame that old 2d graphics end up just looking super zoomed-out (or blurry if you use low res) on modern HD monitors.

Oh! I just looked at Race for the Galaxy, didn't realize it was based on the card game. That's another one where the original, physical version of the game is really fun. Hope you enjoy it mastroego.

Weirdly, I was expecting to blow a lot of money on the Black Friday sale, but all I picked up was PuzzleQuest for $3 (thanks Vorark and Unkillable Cat for the recommendation, I like it so far), and the Doki Doki Literature Club Fan Pack was a couple bucks off so I finally grabbed that to support the guy while still being a cheapskate.

In other news, I looked at Slasher's Keep and posted a suggestion on the Steam discussion page, and the dev replied almost immediately. Seems like a guy who's open to feedback, so, cool. I feel like if he takes my suggestion I'll have to buy it.

One warning - AI get lucky sometimes with their moves and RNG. Sometimes a lot.
Some moves they pulled out in my playthrough still haunt me at night...
Even vastly overrated Darkest Dungeons is more fair in that regards

One of my top games of the last couple years, $10 in this week's sale. Check it out if you like a slow burning thriller. Don't look up spoilers.
