Project Exile/Cirosan's improved translation patch for Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is now complete through Chapter 13: https://serenesforest.net/forums/in...anslation-script-complete-through-chapter-13/

Comparisons between the existing SF translation and Cirosan's patch can be found here, with the original Japanese script included for reference: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ez0c6h9dpgd5wrb/PEScripts.zip?dl=0

AGTP sitting on projects for years stops other people from potentially taking it up and whipping it out faster. Add in the fact that Gideon acts like a huge baby for no reason and gives zero transparency in any of his projects, this means nobody wants to take up a project that could be a total waste of personal time. If Gideon was transparent about translation status and didn't threaten to quit working on projects for months because people just ask him about where the translation is at completion, nobody would have a beef with him.

to add to the hilarity, he's intensely political and he's a huge weenie there too
So? Fuck him, then. The English fanlation scene has devolved into a disgrace, dominated purely by those with far more ego than they ever had skill, so focused on what others do and if they approve of it that they neglect their own work. For years I have seen people over-promise and under-deliver, then hoot and puff out their chests while they strut back-and-forth in front of their half-baked shit that they never fix, as if they deserve all the praise in the world for simply pawning off their beta they got tired of poking and prodding on the user-peasants and declaring it done. Some even go so far as to bake in DRM, as if the law regards them as any more legitimate than the filthy pirate hordes they so obviously disdain (hint: derivative artistic rights aren't a thing in the US, every bit of code you cobble together to make your translation more than a glorified script dump is copyright infringement, YES, EVEN YOUR PRECIOUS DIFFS).

Foreigners with a fraction of the resources whinging, Silicon Valley-worshipping, fanlator autists get handed to them routinely accomplish more.

a modder translator is an autistic fag? whatta shock

but, yeah, anytime I mention him not giving updates for projects people would always tell me to check his twitter... which would be nothing but retarded sperging
Try following AbsoluteZero Translations for over five years, just to have the brony faggot close up shop one night and delete all his finished shit from his site (yes, really).

Yeah, I was usually the one to post updates from Absolute Zero. The excuse he gave for shutting everything down ("Fan translations stop real localizations from happening!") was obviously bullshit given that they announced an English localization for the enhanced Vesperia not long after he posted that.

Funny thing: half the users in his Discord revolted after figuring out he wasn't joking and that his finished work had been yanked. Every bit of that shit was archived, in pre-patched and post-patched form. Even the incomplete Tales of Hearts he dropped. I'm not sure he could've stopped us if he wanted too; half his patches were mirrored on RHN and we had everything collectively in under thirty minutes.

well DS version is "true" turn-based while PS3 version is a hybrid, it's still by turns but it uses a kind of ATB system like from early FF's.

That said I played only the PS3 version and I loved it and most definitely recommend it; it's just a feast for the eyes as well. Looks stunning in RPCS3 at 1440p.

Yeah, Gideon is the worst example of this. Sits on translations for many years. Throws a temper tantrum if he gets asked about it. Says he's not going to work on it but doesn't want to let someone else work on it. Just acts like a huge baby all around.

And yeah he his politics are as cancerous as his attitude.

As bad as getting blocked by HG101 because you politely ask them to stop using official accounts for butthurt posts about politics?

HG101 already puts politics in their write-ups themselves so that was a fools errand anyway.

Moldorian: The Sisters of Light and Darkness for the Game Gear has been translated:

http://www.romhacking.net/translations/4084/

Pics look like a standard JRPG, but says it's noted for its "unusual combat system" whatever that means.

In addition, unfinished translation for Necromancer for the TG-16 has been updated:

http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2030/

None of the dialogue is done, so normally I wouldn't have bothered, but the screenshots look pretty decent. Anyone know anything about this game?

Due the latest anime-hatred that Steam is experiencing (from erotic VN to regular VNs with no adult elements), I bet that some devs are probably waiting to see what will happen next*. Hell, I'm convinced that even the Evenicle game from Alicesoft would have been censored/retired had it been released today.

*Especially those like the ones from My erotic summer memories, which will probably be a tempting target for the taste-police.

Most of the Fantranslation scene are now people who actually work in the industry.

And then there are those who just got fucked over like Aroduc

Yeah a lot of fantranslators are now working for the publishers I guess.

And with how active the official releases are, may they don't see a need to have an active fan-translation scene.

The problem with this though is the fact that a lot of these publishers are taking cheap Nukige as fast-money instead of translating something decently entertaining.

Super Robot Wars Ex, basically sequel to SRW 3

On that note, AGTP is redoing SRW 3 translation + using the experience from SRW Ex to make better interface

On separate Tweet the AGTP guy estimate that all SRW mainline game (that means SRW 3 re-translation and SRW 4) will be done by December 2019 or something
