Shouldn't.

Tyranny has a better Steam rating at the moment and despite the fact that it came out a few months ago, you can already buy it half off, and it only has 4x as many owners. :M

Wow, they really messed up.
It's because Mankind Divided was a disastrous port at launch. Different x/y sensitivity, forced mouse acceleration, shitty performance, constant crashes, UI bugs, etc.
Lol, no. It's because it has denuvo, and thus sees no discussion whatsoever anywhere. HR was also a shit port at release and it didn't stop it from being extremely successful.
Vast majority of negative reviews on Steam at launch were because of the technical issues. A lot of people couldn't even start the game. And Denuvo only affects discussions elsewhere, steam reviews can only come from people who bought it.
Again, HR also had A LOT of technical issues at launch, didn't stop it from becoming extremely succesful.

HR was fresher and didn't have a gaggle of reviewers saying "feels like the first half of a game, doesn't offer enough for full price." It'll be interesting to see MD compared to Tyranny, since both games have roughly the same price and length and focus on narrative over gameplay.

Roguey was talking about Steam reviews, which didn't even exist when HR came out.

Coincidentally, neither did TB's first impression vids telling millions of drones what to think and what to do.

MD's Denuvo protection is no longer a factor, although I doubt we'll see any significant uptick in discussion now.

It's fantastic how Bethesda/Arkane messed up with Dishonored 2's PC port as well.

Smooth sailing for Paradox/Obsidian as far as new competition goes. Can you imagine 6-10 years ago thinking "at least a new Obsidian game works"

Only applies to South Park as far as I'm concerned. Had several issues playing Tyranny and lost hours of progress because of a bugged quest, same as PoE.

They released a patch after a week that took care of the gamestoppers. It's clearly not Mankind Divided/Dishonored 2 bad.

This a wild guess but I have a feeling that

Kyros is actually a marriage/couple of a man and a woman that might not be the same individuals throughout history. Notice the edicts are phrased with "Ours" when you read them in the edict menu.

-Are any these questions answered in your playthrough:
-The name, cultural identity or just anything in general about the builders of the spire/oldwalls builders.
-The bane's origin
-Kyros's identiy beyond Sirin's nonsensical withholding of information
-If Kyros edicts work the same way as you. As in if he has his own tower.

Out of those, the only question that was kind of answered was that Kyros is definitely connected to the Spires, and almost certainly got his powers from them. The old Fatebinder you can have a correspondence with confirms it.

That sort of implied rather than confirmed. The only real concrete thing I noticed was Lantry saying "Even Kyros had to walk before he ran" talking about how his/her early edicts were much more tame at the start.
It is more than implied in some of the missives. (now that I have, through the sheer power of reloading, managed to get the ending to trigger, I can join the discussion)
Apparently a peasant has build a shrine to Kyros next to a spire, stating that she/he was there 50 years before the conquest started - and got executed for that.* My guess is that Kyros wants to awaken the spires, but it takes a special someone to do so (and she/he can't do it). The missives lady tells you that fatebinders usually die not long after proclaiming an edict, but your character did not after doing just that in the conquest. Which is probably how Kyros guessed you might be that special snowflake she/he is looking for, and threw you together with an edict at the mountain spire in the hope it sticks.
*That doesn't mean this story is true. It might be a lie to "encourage" your character to investigate (and therefore awaken) the other spires.

dungeon crawls are typically not highly ranked by the Codex as a whole. Dragon Age: Origins soundly beat Knights of the Chalice way back when; we could get something similar here.

I love KotC and still ranked DA:O higher (and still do). For me it was a question of scale, not disliking dungeon crawls. I think I've played and enjoyed a lot more of those than the average codexer, though not near as many as Mondblunt or Crooked Bee.

It seems like that fact somehow annoys you more than if I was just another BioWare-fanboy who didn't even know what KotC was let alone reviewed it glowingly in the cRPG book <3

No, it didn't. Patched game is still bugtastic.

Weird, I honestly didn't notice any bugs worth mentioning in my 60 hours or so in the game. Okay it CTDed once (not reproducible) and I think it once went into a dialog as if I hadn't done it before, but nothing more dramatic than that.

Weird is probably the best way to describe the state of this game in general. I've had the "companion gets stuck in animation when executing a combo" with Barik & Verse (and the way to deal with this was to let the enemy knock them unconscious, otherwise you'd be stuck in permanent combat mode). Also, main quest bugged out towards the very end (for some reason after several reloads it finally worked, which was a good thing, because I was playing with autosaves only ).

Not when it's 76GB
It'll take 2 hours to d/l 76GB on a 100 mbps connection and if anybody still has less than that, it''s their own fault. Quit living in the stone age.

To me, for example, MD is just not such a big deal. The truth about Human Revolution is that it was overrated - even DX fans know that in their hearts. The first half of the game was p. solid but the second half was painfully boring. I also made a big mistake by chosing the stealth/takedown route. At least ramboing everything with guns blazing makes it shorter. Dishonored took lots of flak for giving the PC superpowers but at least with those powers you can experiment. In DXHR you repeat the same thing 1000 times. Again, the lethal path is probably less aggravating but then it's just another shooter with nothing to discuss in it.

The cutscenes were just a step behind AC4 so I'd call them top notch, but there was no interesting gameplay between them. I don't think MD is different enough to justify struggling with the buggy release. I'll wait for the inevitable definitive GOTY edition.

Also, disk space: 76 GB is a significant chunk of your average... or even above-average SSD. Some of us don't like spinning platters of rust in our computers.
