That's a really awesome idea actually. How much do you think Andyman might be worth? The response so far has been a bit muted so I think we'd have to keep it low. Say maybe $1? I don't think we could get much more than that but hey, a dollar's a dollar.Serious_Business said:Next thing he's going to ask for donations to have members unbanned.
For the record, Andyman was in no way responsible for the outage of 13/11/10. The official answer to that is still an error with the transfer of the logs that took out httpd.Crispy said:Andyman, if you really were in any way responsible for that outtage, I say fuck you and the horse you rode...
Sometimes, you need to let things slide. It's one of the aspects of good moderation. Knowing when to strike and knowing when to let something slip by. Cleve always threatens to leave, banning him for that would be like banning Andhaira for asking which is better and why. But Andyman, Andyman is a prominent member, one whom I thought had many popular friends and is much loved by all. He said he was leaving. He said he was done. He said we'd be rid of him soon.Sceptic said:Read: he didn't ban all the tards that keep saying it (Cleve sends his best) but instead the actual good posters that have and would otherwise continue to contributeracofer said:DU already said multiple times that faggots that whine about leaving the Codex would be banned on sight because it's annoying and retarded.
He didn't ban a lot of people that ignored his warnings for a while, but now he just does what he does best.
And yet he still posted. You can't make idle threats like that. It was clear that we couldn't let that slide. It became apparent that it had gone too far.
Something had to be done.
The time had come to send a message. A message to all who would threaten to leave the Codex. A message that if you say you're going to leave, you better leave or we'll kick you out! Because it's not right that people can say they're leaving, only to then not leave. It's inappropriate.
It's publicly saying one thing and privately saying another. It makes you dishonest. It makes you weak. It makes you criminal scum. It makes you like American Diplomats and thanks to WikiLeaks we all know HOW MUCH THEY SUCK DEATH TO AMERICA FUCK YEAH. And we can't have that at the Codex.
The Codex is a good, honest place where people need to know that what you say is true. When you say you're a tranny, you post the pictures from your porn shoot to prove it. When you say you're sleeping with internet whores, you post the pictures with appropriately added smiley faces. When you say you're a devout Muslim who believes in Djinn, you mean it.
So when you say youre leaving but don't, you undermine the very integrity of the Codex. The integrity that keeps this place strong. The integrity that makes the Codex stand above all others.
This is a highly prestigious magazine and it's reputation must be upheld. Andyman had crossed the line and it could not go unnoticed.
