The Storytellers Vault is a program that allows you to create content (adventures, city or regional supplements, splatbooks, fiction; new powers and character types; backgrounds; character sheets, artwork, etc.) using White Wolf intellectual property (IP) and to make some money while you’re at it.

To get involved, all you need to do is read the Content Guidelines, write your content, and click through a Community Content Agreement with OneBookShelf when uploading your content. OneBookShelf is the parent company of DriveThruRPG and RPGNow and operates the Storytellers Vault site and the Dungeon Masters Guild program, under license from White Wolf.

Once published, all Storytellers Vault content is available at www.StorytellersVault.com can monitor the website for your sales data, plus ratings and reviews of your work. To promote sales, we encourage you to create eye-catching covers for your work and publicize through social media and other reputable media outlets where White Wolf fans gather.

It's kinda lame. They advertised it more like - we will give you tools to create this stuff, so you don't have too. I'm not a graphics designer nor a layout creator. I would greatly appreciate some tools, ready stuff, templates for maybe gimp, photoshop. But no, it's just got guidelines. Like seriously?

Also, since this is WoD, it's full of special snowflake stuff. Like albino vampires.

You must be talking about the Dark Ages templates, Dark Ages was unlocked for the vault in October, you'll see that the other templates have been available since 8th of August.

I expect when the next game line is unlocked (Victorian-Age Vampire, most likely) templates for that will be uploaded the same day.

Got no time now, but I was thinking something along of the lines of City by Night set in 1920 in an alternative history (where Salubri survived, the High/Low clan separation existed, etc). Already had a campaign set there... the players got themselves killed. Long story short - one of them diablerized a Primogen, while a war between vampires was going on and Methuselah vampires were roaming in the city, so the prince executed the whole lot - the perpetrator for the act, the rest for not stopping it.

I heard unfortunately that you aren't allowed to make fictional city books at this time.

I myself am planning, for when Victorian Age comes out, to make location-books for the German Empire, Russia and Austria-Hungary.

You can actually publish really explicit shit using the "Black Dog Game Factory" templates. Just attach it to your PDF cover and you're pretty much allowed to upload straight-up pornographic content.

But the Black Dog Game tag ensures the game is not to be taken seriously, which is not the case I was talking about. Stuff like anything from Changeling: The Dreaming or the writer of Mage: 20th anniversary edition is the stuff of nightmares, grimderp and WTF!?, as well as an instant generator of horrible people/fans.

So the White Wolf web presence is now going to be swarmed with "look at my Dzirrt Od'Ruden and his +10 fangs" third-party shit that pretends to be sorta kinda semi-professional, much like D&D was before?

I really miss the times when this garbage was restricted to doc/txt files that couldn't be ever sold. I guess I got rid of my pdf-pirating habits just in time. Dodging all the "third party" Pathfinder junk was painful enough already.

Since I last posted here they have added templates for Victorian Age and the "Ebony Kingdom" (African Vampires I guess) and will be releasing Kindred of the East templates fairly soon, after which I expect they will move on to Werewolf.
