As you may have seen at that other website (which is run by pedophiles), Voodoo Extreme posted their top 20 for games they <s>think have pretty graphics</s> really look forward to in 2006.

Just so happens a few strategy titles got in there and they were all placed ass-backwards, here they are:

17) Heroes of Might and Magic 5 from Nival Interactive
Russian developer Nival seeks to bring New World's Heroes of Might and Magic back from the brink, this time using a modern 3D game engine. With Civ IV's recent success, lets hope for more turn-based strategy goodness on the PC.

11) Supreme Commander from Gas Powered Games
Chris Taylor makes his triumphant return to the real-time strategy scene with Supreme Commander, spiritual successor to Total Annihilation. Clever AI, units built to scale (imagine a warship that takes up two screens) and of course, playing the commander unit itself are some of the main attractions.

(I like how Supreme Commander gets the 11th spot and the only thing that's been shown is hype in press releases)

8) Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends from Big Huge Games
Anyone who enjoyed Rise of Nations, appreciates high-end 3D graphics and craves to pit magic vs technology is sure to dig Rise of Legends. My dragon is so going to kick the crap out of your robot. Bank on it, suckah!

It's a good thing we have a site like this to kick VoodooExtreme's ass. It's about time we got a website for people who like strategy games for their gameplay and not what they are a sequel to, how pretty their graphics are and what ubarkewl units are in the game.

Yeah, but how do you compose such a list based on 'actual gameplay' when no strategy game is playable yet? :)

Or did you want to say that such looking-forward lists in general are just totally arse?

well, I imagine they could've played HOMM5 and ROL at preview showings.

But i'm also saying that they are looking for the wrong things in games.

If he wasn't sobbing as he wrote that, something is wrong with that man.

I also like how TA got 11 and they talk about its awesome gameplay, but RoL gets an 8 and the entire write up is about its graphics. ROOFLES
