Stream from one of the devs basically he is working on the BOT AI and trying to improve it. Kinda neat look into how the devs work on this type of stuff.

If you have a good group, Nightmare is easily doable. Ran with some people and we did a few of the maps on that difficulty. Got a ton of 'dice' each level but unfortunately never rolled into anything cool. I'm not sure where I stand on getting nothing if you wipe. Seems like a good balance to me because if you do beat those harder difficulties the rewards definitely ramp up. My only issue is that the game's interface is kinda sluggish in how it interacts with the tavern.

BTW, blood effects hit the framerate pretty damn hard. Whenever you get a ton of it splattered into one area, just looking at it will drain the FPS. I have a video of me looking at it, FPS drop, then looking away, FPS normal. Not sure how to fix it but it's definitely an issue when you're cutting down tons of rats.

Anyway, I did capture some footage of my party getting attacked by an ogre on some rooftops.

I saw people recommending the Tunnelbear chrome plugin and it worked fine for me, the only downside is that you have to make an account to use it.

Is it possible to disable bot companions?

Nope. If you start the game without a full party or someone DCs, you get a bot.

It's funny really, bots were programmed so well early on in the beta that running nightmare with bots was easy as fuck. They basically oneshot elites the second they showed up in line of sight while being practically invulnerable as long as they had a melee weapon with 4+ stamina. So they had to change/nerf them, and now they oftentimes don't res you if you're downed on a different z-layer while aggroing the "nearest" elite even if that one is impossible to reach due to some point of no return inside the map. They then just stand there forever until you're far enough away for them to teleport back to you or die, with the latter being the most likely outcome. They would still kick ass if that "being stuck" issue wouldn't happen that often.

That being said, the soldier/dwarf bot can still work decently on maps like smugglers run. It's the other 3 that are basically worthless in any given situation.

I'd get this in a heartbeat if I had enough Steam shooter friends (many of whom I've played TF2, Tribes, CS, L4D2, etc. with) interested in it, but at the moment, they aren't. From everything I've read on gaming forums/social sites I trust, the bots are shit and random players are total retards. "Must have several friends ready to go" is a big barrier to entry for a game that costs $30 upfront.

I also read that hitboxes are wonky and that there are a lot of stability/connection/performance issues currently.

Completely off-topic, but I always had mad respect for Skaven because, despite being technically a furry race, nobody really draws porn of them. I always considered that a mark of being badass. They're so ratty and grimy nobody sexualizes them. (With some rare exceptions.)
