Why is the twitterbox so big in Firefox?

So, for 10 days, I see the twitterbox at least in double width than it should be, using Firefox. It kinda ruins the frontpage.

Chrome is ok.

Why is this happening?

Also check your preferences and see what style you are using. I'm using the default setting in Chrome and it looks just fine.

RPGCodex is implementing a brand new content leverage strategy based around social media. The new size of the twitterbox showcases RPGCodex profound commitment to social media and we hope to zero in on content drivers and build a lasting brand awareness with our new target audience in the social media space.

It looks like that for me too. I'm using Firefox with the RPG Codex style without fixed width.

So, now i'm in my office:

Firefox looks the same, with huge twitterbox. Chrome is fine.
I changed my preferences to fixed width, no change (it seems to affect only the forum pages, I didn't notice anything different in homepage).
I even logged out, no change.

I also have IE 8 here and when I used it, it refreshed under compatibility mode and the twitterbox never showed up then. I know it's an old version but I'm reporting it.

The thing is that twitterbox was fine for about a year, it became like this the last couple of weeks, I think.

I'm gonna update every Firefox component and report back.

I went to inspect the element via Firefox

It seems that the default width is 520px but Firefox doesn't read the following command that the maximum width should be 100%. Chrome does that and it displays fine there.

I changed the width to 100% and it seems how it should be:

So, here is the problem.

Crooked Bee, looks like the code comes from Twitter. Something you can fix on the Twitter side as an option?

It's as if twitter is overcompensating for something.

No, I only have these options:

The customization documentation does mention the width parameter though, so I assume you can edit the code manually? https://dev.twitter.com/web/embedded-timelines/parameters

Currently the code looks like this:

Code:
<a class="twitter-timeline" href="https://twitter.com/RPGCodex" data-widget-id="353423015545024514">Tweets by @RPGCodex</a>
<script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+"://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");</script>

Yeah that's the code I've got on my end at the Codex.

Setting the width as a % seems to be impossible in the widget. https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/210

Looks like I might have to do a custom width set in the CSS, but it looks more like Firefox has changed what's important in how it reads the width of things, because the 100% already defined should ideally over-write the set pixel width.

sounds like you can put it in a wrapper div and let the wrapper decide the width
