Would the gaming industry be better off if consoles never existed?

There would be only 1 solution to save gaming: a) build a time machine b) find the grandparents of whoever it was who had the idea for consoles, and c) kill them and all their relatives d) same goes for mobile devices and VR.

All the serious problems gaming has have nothing to do with consoles, but with greedy publishers, developers and shareholders on the one end and retarded customers on the other. Shit like Steam, Windows getting worse with every iteration, more and more intrusive, user-unfriendly DRM, games released in beta or even alpha state, season passes, shitty DLC and microtransactions etc. are not console-exclusive.

There are retards on consoles and there are retards on PC. I'm on both for example.

So in other words you want to kill jews and muslims. The first console was made by a jew, Ralph Baer, and steve jobs biological father was a muslim, but steve jobs was put up for adoption, and was rasied in san fransisco.

Ponder the old saying "There's nothing new under the sun" as you realize how futile that idea is.

It's the people's intelligence that breeds culture, and culture determines the way we want to spend our time. Hence with current culture there is a demand for lazy, potato couch alike gameplay, therefore even if consoles didnt exist, someone would eventualy manufacture something similar -a lazy box, to just lay, eat chips, shoot some popamole things. An enjoyment for commoners of a simple minds and low IQ.

There's still so many good games coming out for PC I don't have much of a dog in this fight - although things were looking dicey when the Xbox 360 first launched.

I get triggered when I am on Eurogamer or some other mainstream site and read a comment - on a PC gaming story - by some console peasant who says they would prefer a console version because they want to 'play on a couch'. Who actually prefers this? Having to squint at the fucking TV screen because you can't make out the detail? Maybe owls, but not human beings surely?

Also, people who have a PC but pick up the console version - because it is available sooner, or has Xbox multiplayer, whatever. None of that excuses the shitty compromise on visual quality, controls and longevity. These people make me feel there might be a need for eugenics after all.
