Whopps, our presence is known. Nevertheless we'll brave the dungeons because we can get some good items and find a useful shortcut to the other side of the peninsula.
Meet one of the resident species, the Dondrago. They can cast lightning and they're rather annoying.

The cat screamed and it alerted enemies. This is one of the traits of the dungeon, if you make unnecessary noises, monsters will attack you. For instance that soda can may look unresistable :

It's one those passages you can't actually see due the perspective. If we take it all the way, we stumble upon the back side of this door.

Awesomeness. Robo is pretty much the opposite of Frog party wise: most of his dual and triple techs are kinda lame, but he kicks ass all on his own so who cares. Mass Hp, physical offense and defense, good techs. All he lacks is speed and magic defense.
And the ribbon fixes that

I remember having trouble with the run-around-the-room-to-get-spells sequence when I played this on a snes. I didn't have a great understanding of english back then, and Spekkio (the character) doesn't tell you if you're doing it wrong, so I ended up stuck there.
Then again, I was renting the game and people had this sick fetish about erasing other people's saves only to play for 10 minutes and give up. I probably wouldn't get far, anyway.
Back then, I used to think that

Crono Marle and Lucca are now able to use magic ! Up to now we've only been using techniques. Magic can be pretty useful especially against creatures that have elemental weaknesses.
It's not an easy fight but we manage to win.
Each time we fight Spekkio he will be able to use the same magic we can use and he'll be accordingly powerful. Let's talk to the old man :
