Each character will earn skill points to level up. The different characters have different skills to upgrade, such as the Culibine has Radial, Ranged, Focus, and Life, while the Human has Melee, Ranged, Rigging, and Life. This also goes for the equipment, certain gauntlets, armor, etc are for a certain skill level that you must meet before donning.
Not much of a character system in this game, is it?
