  1. Game News Geneforge 4 released on Windows

Nice, this one works in WINE. I've had trouble with trying be a linux and indie rpg nerd at the same time with previous Spiderweb games. The world map screen is ridiculously slow, though.
  2. Space Empires V - Not For Weaklings

Difficult in the sense that the game is too complex to get their heads around, I guess. The AI is filth. I need to get a multiplayer game going, but I don't like playing strangers over the internet, so I'm a bit stuck.
  3. Space Empires V Can't Get Much Love

It might just be a BSOD and I have that whole reboot on BSOD thing enabled, but I haven't checked that.
  4. Space Empires V Can't Get Much Love

I got SE:V earlier this week (thanks, baby arm), and from initial impressions (after applying the 1.13 patch), it has some problems, but the amount of raw depth that the game has is nearly enough to overcome those problems and launch it into the realm of awesome. When it stops rebooting my PC...
  5. Space Empires V: The Bugs My Destination

As per the malfador website, the 1.13 patch has been released.
  6. Space Empires V: The Bugs My Destination

Well, I haven't got it yet. Judging from the demo, I can imagine the bugs will turn many people off the game. The demo was really an awful mess, and I'm not expecting the full version to be much better, even with the patch. 6.6 sounds about right in its current state. Anyone who buys this...
  7. We need the ability to ignore users. NOW.

You are a newcomer, though. A year isn't enough.
  8. Game News NWN 2 went gold

    You're an idiot.
  9. Space Empires V Demo!!!!

Well, you can't build space yards on space stations to begin with (only after 10 levels of space yards research) so it's the only way to get the ships churned out right fast in the early game. It should be at least a bit harsher, though. On the research/technology front, it's kind of...
  10. Hardcore Games/Limited Distribution

I was going to suggest that, too. Damnit, mytgroo, try to be more subtle.
  11. Space Empires V Demo!!!!

That kind of interesting stuff was probably cut for the demo, and even if it weren't, 100 turns is barely enough to get a game rolling, let alone to start doing interesting stuff like that. Theres a screen for overall construction queues for your empire, it has a button that will upgrade all...
  12. Space Empires V Demo!!!!

Wrong button, I guess. :) ... Was it the reboot button on the front of your PC? Mine tends to do do that. I'm finding that the AI in the demo isn't really aggressive enough to be challenging. As long as I haven't pissed them off, they're receptive to any treaty I offer them, a couple of them...
  13. Space Empires V Demo!!!!

First impression: AWESOME. But who's suprised that I think that? The interface is a lot better than the previous games in the series, and the game seems to be a lot more detailed.
  14. Hex Based Map and Movement In CRPG

In terms of design, yeah. Implementation would involve some basic trigonometry (to draw the grid) and graph theory (for pathfinding algorithms), but it wouldn't differ much from the standard 8-way-movement square grids.
  15. Vote for AoD!

That the website is in Russian sort of implies that, I think.
