Does the game play out like football? I heard it was a mix with rugby.

Lurking on the forums, it looks like devs say the AI doesn't cheat. The lower the difficulty level, the more risky plays it makes. But I've also seen a lot of complaints about the dice rolls though.

Well, depending on what kind of random-algorithm and which seed (if the seed even changes) they use, it may be possible that even after reloading, all rolls end up the same. This happens in some RPGs, too. Quite annoying.

In HoMM V (Tribes of the east), it seems like the starting positions of your troops are the only thing you can change when you restart a battle in order to get different roll results for the exact same movements. Kinda weird.

Anyway, all those random games always leave you with the impression that the computer gets better results than you. Its just how people work.
Negative things always stay in mind easier than positive ones.
