I have remixed the teaser with a different soundtrack:

I can't... stand it. To me that music is pure, utter garbage. As for the original in the trailer I seriously consider *purchasing* mp3.

Music's a bit meh, was hoping for something with more of a retro vibe/influence with the general direction of the music.

Or maybe something a bit more industrial?

When it's Done... When it's Ready ... Thursday. The mark of great developers.

CD Projekt is a public company, it'll be done when the shareholders say it's done. Then they'll release the Enhanced version a year later but for free so you won't feel too grumpy about it if at all.

I think this is the most fitting, or at least it kind of matches the way I feel about this underwhelming teaser:

Mrowak in case you're not aware of the source

Yeah, I did not know, but I do not care. To me the entire 'it's cyberpunk so it's must be electronic shit' is utter nonsense. It's basically because first cyberpunk movies came in the 80s where electro was associated with futuristic stuff. Shit sounded horrible back then, and it sounds horrendously now.

I have nothing against someone developing the music in order to achieve greater effect (Deus Ex *orchestral* version of the main theme sounded decent enough, and Deus Ex HR has pretty much excellent music department) but that stuff from System Shock 1 is pretty much blegh.

Where do you find "industrial" music like that? When I search for industrial I always get some kind of garbage with some emo people screaming or grunting. I never get what I imagine under the word: something cold, mechanical, steel-like, with no vocals. Where did you find that music and is there more of it? I need fodder for the car stereo.

You can't like the music in the teaser and keep posting here.

Ok, the question is what is wrong with it? It clearly fits the trailer, it is paced well enough in it punctuating gun shots and all other events. It highlights what appears to be the theme of the game ("personal responsibility... personal responsibility..."). It sets the mood, while not degenerating into blips and random notes from a keyboard. It greately reinforces what the viewer sees in the trailer.

Your only complaint seems to be that because the game is called Cyberpunk, there shuold be some electro or industrial music in it, which would not convey half of the message the trailer does.

I don't really know how to rationally word it. But it makes me want to turn the volume to minimum. I don't like modern drums, I don't like mopey teenager singing about "dark things" and-

It's just a generational barrier. I'm too old for this. System Shock, that was my generation. This is yours.

Funny, because I am 26 now, and this is not my generation by and stretch of imagination... but neither was System Shock 1. :P

All I can say that I get the same vibe as you do with the original music, but when I listen to SS 1 intro music (I don't like the music being about nothing, and general blippiness of the track).

Case in point: I merely expressed my support for the trailer, and I certainly can see appeal in it. Getting all edgy over such a nonsense as most Codexers here do is just waste of breath. By all means like whatever the heck you like. I will do the same with my favourites.

It sounds exactly like the shit that's used in every goddamn Polish soap opera these days. You're either gay or fucking deaf if you enjoy this sort of music.

I bet you can tell me a lot about it. I cannot into a single (Polish or otherwise) soap opera.

I'm not being edgy, I'm just saying I don't like it and find it weird someone does. I can't put myself into your position, that's all.
And funnily enough, we're almost the same age. ;)

Nah, it was more of a general criticism of the populace here.

I expected as much. Surprisingly many Codexers are past 25 years old - usually the more level-headed ones. ;)

If I'm still bitching about video games here when I'm 30 please hire some hitmen to take care of me in a painless and quick way.

I love it. I had such a bad feeling about this game. Thinks are turning up.

Under that axiom I'm sure a quarter of the Codex -- including myself -- would be dead. You'll still be here when you're 30 bitching about video games!
