A. Leaving now would make our relations with Wudang deteriorate.

treave, if we manage to find the manual, do we have the sufficient skill to make another copy of it? Or, to make a few "corrections" to it before letting BJ have it?

I think it would be kinda silly if we find the manual to just hand it back expecting only a pat on the head and a "thank you". Zhang Jue's disciple doesn't roll like that.

You can copy for your own perusal, but better hope it isn't filled with drawings because you don't have the artistic skill to make an exact copy. How do you plan to make changes to the manual without it being obvious?

There are tricks you can do with forged manuals that can really fuck over anyone who tries to practice it, but you don't have the artistic skill necessary to pull off an authentic fake. Xiahou Yu does, but he isn't with you right now.

I still say we get some dirty pinup posters of Emei nuns, seal it in a special seal and tell BJ only Abbess Miecao can break it. The old lady will know what to do.

Kind of sad we missed the hidden harem choice at C. Oh well, still the I guess all that trolling was worth it, hope we still will get a shot at it.

Good thing Cao'er is both intelligent and extremely perceptive. She should be able to track Jing down, if he misses their meeting date..

We'll just have to publicly announce our arrival in every city from now on.

Jing isn't afraid of some imperial assasssins, is he?

Well, we don't have the skill to fake it, but maybe we could still fuck someone up by removing a critical page or two (or ten) from it. Just as long as there is no clear link to it from previous/next page that should be relatively easy to pull. And potentially very dangerous if the page includes a warning of some kind.

B5. We'd need some street savvy that there guys lack, and barring the Manor, which I'm not convinced about, these lot'd attract far too much attention.

Wow, that's a lot of locations. I think we should first start by narrowing down which locations would be better to approach as a group, and which would be better to handle solo:

1) The man who was taking the toll and the little boy we saw are both probably on Du Yao's payroll, so it's fair to say that the authorities know that we came in as a group. Showing our respects to the Godfather might make working here a lot easier. We should come in with our whole crew here (or, at the very least, alongside Bai Jiutian) if we want to get a good reception. We'd probably have to do a favour for him.

2) We would definitely need to come in here with the Wu brothers. And probably Bai Jiutian, because we have nothing to pay the whores with . Sending a bunch of sheltered virgins into a whorehouse is a great way to mask our true intentions here.

3) We'd definitely need to tackle this solo, though given the danger, though having Guo Fu along as a bodyguard might not be a half-bad idea. Somebody is bound to recognize Bai Jiutian, and the Wu brothers lack any street smarts whatsoever. Neither does Guo Fu, for that matter, but as long as he knows to follow our lead, we should be okay.

4) We probably would want to handle this solo. If the Black Dragon Society was scared of us, I think a bunch of bandits would be downright terrified. I think we'd get good info here, but it would definitely cause problems with the powers that be.

5) Guo Fu's time to shine. Drink the entire bar under the table and loosen some tongues. Sadly, I'm not sure how valuable the information we'd get here would be.

6) Sort of a wildcard option. treave, are the Youxia City Beggars considered orthodox just like other Beggar Sect members are?

They are, but the Beggars are so big that it's hard to say how helpful any particular branch might be. Since your relations with them is only due to your acquaintance with their chief, it is not guaranteed to translate well to grassroots.

Out of curiosity, is the thing with the horses just a running gag because of our 1 LCK, or is there an actual fixable reason for that?

Yeah, I'm looking on the list of locations and trying to think of the possible location we could send our merry men to with a reasonable chance of them making back with their clothes and any useful info. And the only thing that comes to my mind is to send them all to the lord (maybe take Guo Fu ourself as a bodyguard). Brothel, fences, bandits, tavern, beggars - I don't see them of any use on the any other location.

So, voting A for now. Send BJ and the brothers to the lord for introduction and maybe some info. BJ has some social skills and the brothers can keep an eye on him for us. We and Guo Fu should head for the black market. That looks like the most likely option to me.

I want to go with B1 to start out with before splitting up later if possible. At that point, I'd have Jing go with the prostitutes (obviously), paired with Bai Jiutian so that we can keep our main money supply under watch and also make him uncomfortable, have Guo Fu go to the Tavern, and the Wu brothers could check in with the beggars.

So, B1 > A: 2 (XJ, BJ) 5 (GF) 6 (Wux3)

Here, obviously
B1 > A (Guo Fu, BJ, and Jing to Manor, and brothers to tavern)

I don't really trust any of our companions to go out on their own. They are too naive and noble to do any good work in a den of thieves like this. I fear that especially BJ and Guo Fu should stay close to us at all costs. If we do split up, the brothers can probably handle themselves if they go to a reasonably tame area.

To treave, What is the nature of our recovery? I don't need any spoilers, but it it going to be a "drink the magic potion and instantly regain your stats at the proper time in the story" type of recover or will we slowly regain points in our wounded stats as time progresses?

Guys, why do you think that splitting the group is a good idea? I'm not sold on how effective they can be on their own.
I mean, how often would they have made discreet investigations before, while keeping a low profile?
This is not a job for Strutting Peacock and Sitting Bull, it's a job for Skulking Wolf and Stalking Tiger.

If that's your concern, then why would you want to keep them around us? Since we'd have to be looking after them while they're not keeping a low profile, we're not likely to have that, either, if we travel in a group.
