Let's go find some friends. The Power of Friendship shall prevail!

The lobby will probably have people in it who had come up with the same idea, but we don't want to play as yet another copycat, now do we? :rpgcodex:

Well if this is anything like that other Spiral then any friends we make will have all the survival instinct of your average lemming codexer. ;)

They will be an albatross around our neck so I say we completely avoid them.

Let us proceed in an organized and systemic fashion since we are obviously not crazy and an abandoned hospital is obviously not suspicious.

If things are going to explode in Lovecraftian nightmare, the rooftop gives us no escape route. If we were forcibly confined in some way, hospital staff may not be friendly.

We don't want the roof for an escape route. We want the roof so that we can get our bearings and draw some kind of map of the damn place.

There is a very good chance of getting lost in these stories so actually knowing locations is a pretty high priority.

There does not seem to be anything else of note in the files; strangely enough, they are filled with pristine forms, templates and letterheads. None of them have been used, each of the fields are empty, and there are no signs of anything having been erased from the paper at one point.
...
A placard above the room you just left indicates that it is Ward 201. The plates that indicate the names of the patients inhabiting the ward are blank.

treave, does our character remember anything about himself at the moment, or is pretty much everything a blank right now? The fact that our character can't remember his phone password and that the names of all the patient in this ward are left blank seems to imply that any others we meet here are also in the same predicament.

C strikes me as the most interesting from an information-gathering perspective, since I don't think that any people we might meet right now will know what's going on:

It is entirely dark outside. Pressing your nose against the cool glass, you are still unable to make out anything. If it is night, then you must be somewhere far removed from civilization. There are no lights whatsoever in the distance, not even the ever-present glow of the street lights that you would expect. It is as if the building you are in has been swallowed by a never-ending darkness.
...
You take hold of the handle on the window, turn it, and push.
...
It does not budge even a fraction no matter how much force you apply, pushing and pulling. You might as well be exerting yourself against a brick wall, for all the good you do. You tap the glass pane – the sound weirdly flat in the utter silence of the room – and turn away, slightly frustrated at your wasted effort.

I like it, but I kinda wanted to start off this LP with a mind towards playing a more cautious, calculated character and really trying to stick to that rather than going YOLO right off the bat (c'mon guys, let's at least give it a half-hearted effort before we do something stupid three updates from now!). Fucking with a black void that appears to have a physical presence just to see what's outside isn't exactly "cautious". In addition, I'm not sure that we can actually leave the perimeter given that we couldn't even open a window here. Not sure how we'd manage to open a door.

Option A seems like a happy medium. Looking through some of the wards might reveal clues as to what's going on and when everyone disappeared, but we might also meet someone else here too. Hopefully they won't try to eat us.

treave, how many floors does the building have? Do they mention it in the brochure?

Well, at least the windows aren't just painted over the walls. That would have some... unfortunate implications.

i'm very sad you steal my nightmares to make your stories, treave

I'm just borrowing them from the collective sea of humanity's subconscious. :M

He hasn't really thought about it yet, but whatever he tries to remember comes up blank for now. The blank plates are actually just empty, indicating the ward is unoccupied.

On the brochure there is a picture of the hospital from the outside. There is more than one building, but the largest building appears to be about 6 storeys tall.

C. There's obviously something weird going on, but going on the roof would let us determine whether it's just in the hospital, or if we're really fucked.

Spiral is Uzumaki in jap, so there can only be one explanation.

We've been abducted by aliens.

We find out soon enought, if teleporting devices start popping out of our asses.
