Justified bitching over bugs aside, it's telling that 76% on Metacritic is considered abysmal for an AAA title nowadays...
But you have to look at the mix. There's still the usual shill reviews with around 90's scores, but then you get 5/10 from outlets like Joystiq.

The obvious reason to not buy this game aren't the technical flaws, but the fact, that the "Assassins" usually are on the wrong side. Who'd side with the revolutionaries and not the Ancien Régime? I'll maybe get AC Rogue, but I bet the Templar there will still end up on the wrong side.

I thought DA3 was going to be lulzfest champion of remaining year, but then I saw those pictures in this thread. First I thought they were just some weird photoshops I didn't understand, but then I saw some of them on another forum and realized they were real.
:what:
This is beyond what Bethesda could achieve. :retarded:

"Ubisoft North American president Laurent Detoc said that Ubisoft would break Assassin’s Creed’s annualized schedule by delaying a game "if it’s not good enough..If we think we’ve ended up with a 70 percent Assassin’s Creed game, we’re not going to ship it,” Detoc told IGN. “That damages the brand. I’m not going to give you the names of products, because you know them as well as I do, but if you start to make games at 70 percent, even with a big brand, eventually people are going to change their mind about that brand. They won’t want it anymore.” Source: IGN

How the fuck do you get so many bugs after making the same game five times over?

How wait, reminds of the Total War games getting worse AI with each new entry in the series.
From what I heard AC3 had nearly thousand people working on it and whole development was just big mess. Maybe Unity had similar problems.

Ubisoft Comments on Assassin's Creed Unity PC Troubles

"We are aware that the graphics performance of Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC may be adversely affected by certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations," Ubisoft said on their forum. "This should not affect the vast majority of PC players, but rest assured that AMD and Ubisoft are continuing to work together closely to resolve the issue, and will provide more information as soon as it is available."

This is using the Unity engine, a fairly stable engine been used by pretty much everyone at this point and they fucked it up.

Then again, this is what happens when they go for "annual releases" and have happened before, its interesting seeing how the gaming industry never learns, I bet someone at Ubi authorized the release knowing full well it wasnt ready because it had to be released this year just before Black Friday and hope to reel enough suckers and survive with brand name alone.

I do hope they just let this stupid franchise die, its already stinks.

 Who said comedy in videogames is so hard?

This is one grand step towards the emergent and procedural comedy. :salute: Ubisoft should preserve this as it is without any further patches, so that following comedy game developers could take note of this!

Oh, man. Its a clusterfuck. Now its unplayable for me.
Abstergo is doing a server sweep and you gotta run for yo life otherwise it deletes you like shown in that Anomaly trailer. Game crashes everytime I jump into the passage and tries to load a new section. Happened 3 times in a row and now I cant progress cause the fucking thing keeps crashing.
GJ, motherfuckers. Gonna go play some Lego Batman instead.

Edit
Also, about microtransactions. Focus on word micro. Why NOT put it in when there's always dumb motherfuckers that will buy it.

If you glance through the thread you'll see a few people bought $99.99 packs. On top of a full game cost. Dayum.

Ubisoft launches Assassin's Creed: Unity live blog as devs battle bugs
Next update to fix Arno falling through the floor.

Ubisoft has taken the unusual step of launching a live blog to chart its work fixing Assassin's Creed: Unity's plethora of launch bugs.

The site states that Ubisoft's next patch will address a few common issues, such as main character Arno falling through the floor.

Crashes when joining co-op sessions, delays in loading the main menu and a bug which sees Arno trapped inside hay carts are all set to be squashed.

But more pervasive issues remain - and Ubisoft is aware.

"We are already looking into many of the other issues you've told us about and we have more updates planned," the publisher wrote. "This list doesn't capture everything, but here are the most widely-reported problems we've heard about from you:
  • Frame rate issues
  • Graphical and collision issues
  • Matchmaking co-op issues
  • Helix Credits issues
"We will be providing additional details in the coming days, so check back for updates."

The game's launch performance has come under intense criticism from fans (it's out already in North America and launches here in the UK on Friday).

Digital Foundry has already given the game a quick performance analysis - a full Face-Off article is also on the way.

Ubisoft's online Uplay service has also suffered downtime, and the Assassin's Creed: Initiates service (which unlocks in-game content in Unity) is still currently broken for many fans.

Yeah, they fucked up when they wanted me to side with the :terrorist: to kill righteous god-fearing Christians.

:flamesaw:/10 franchise

SJWing makes for better stories in games, don't you know?

Ubisoft have pretty strong priorities. I get releasing game with bugs, badly optimized and so on but not working micro transactions? Unacceptable!
