Ok,the pc modding community stepped in where BW failed hard.

Thanks to their efforts it is now possible to WALK. (You know for your roleplaying pleasure) This can be TOGGLED or just hold a button. Amazingly this button is configurable!

Im sure at BW HQ they are scrambling right now, how the hell did the modders accomplish something this MF complex where we Failed? Alarm bells ringing!

Source is the unmentionable forums.

It was already possible...

with a controller.

Fuck controllers. And btw fuck walking too. The glorious victory of the rag tag mod posse over corporate BW is what counts.

denofgeek.com ranked Dragon Age number 1 game of the year.
denofgeek.com said:
an RPG that delivers everything you could ever want. There's real-time, and tactical combat, a ridiculous number of quests and side missions, brilliant characters, flexible skill trees, a huge and varied world, great story [...] It's true role playing, and it's just great, pure and simple. [...] A true classic, and definite game of the year for me.

Played it for 5 minutes today. I had to quit after some priestess in Val Royeux made a speech with some terrible cringeworthy accent.

I liked DAO's lore, especially the fade stuff. I also thought the love triangle between Leliana and Morrigan was entertaining if a bit cringeworthy. I liked combining spells as a mage and playing with a two-mage patry. I also somehow tolerated DA2's main storyline but found the sidequests atrocious). How bad is this one? Which class is the most interesting? Considering my previous experiences, should I bother at all with this one?

I've played a bit of it, and tried a couple of different classes. I personally found Melee more interesting then ranged. It is very much a single player MMO now though. If you can stomach that then there is a ton of content in the game. Your millage may vary. I didn't get much past the Hinterlands, and by all accounts the areas after that are supposed to be more exciting?

Get it on sale eventually but I would not rush to get it now. There are plenty of much better RPGS you could be playing if you haven't already.

Both main and side quests are atrocious, gameplay is borefest, but companions and advisors written, suprisingly, on above average for Bioware level as long as one avoids Sera and not show any desire to "ride the Bull". Still it's like 10% of the game being decent with 90 % being bad, which is no better than spoon of honey in the barrel of shit.

Yeah it's weird the first thing Kwan journos usually notice about Eurofag games, especially the cheaper ones, is "bad acting" and bad animations. Just remember Risen 2 or Risen 3. And yet a big chunk of the DAI cast boasts some of the most cringeworthy voiceacting in the whole AAA gig. Plus the animations are generally terrible too, a lot of the character assets obviously date all the way back to Mass Effect 1.

In terms of production value this is a painfully average game, especially in comparison with the current Ubisoft production (Unity, FC4).

Yeah i dont hate DAI but best RPG 2014 is ridiculous and makes no sense at all. At least this means it cannot get best game? Not sure how rps works apart from apparently acepting sums of monies from the devil.

FYI, Endless Legend got best game, so now we can officially say that Bioware is worse than Amplitude.

Bought it (Intending to return within 24 hours, of course...) and played it for an hour. Worse than DAII. Wow.

They just had to make the combat worse. How did they fucking do that? HURR, LETS REMOVE AUTO-ATTACK EXCEPT FER IN TACTICUL MODE; THE GAMERZ WILL LUV THAT!

It's real fun holding R down. Wow.

I expected to return it later after having a fun lark with it, but this was just terrible.

Ok, thats a pretty excellent choice and it may be the future of PC gaming. Small creative studios with actual gamers in their employment, focussed on creating the best possible (fun) user experience instead of solely trying to maximize profits in order to score their yearly bonus. I read on their site that amongst others they worked on Ruse, which i thought was a pretty inventive strategy title. Havent played this one since i burned out on 4x games a long time ago. Still i may tried it when its on sale. With developers like Amplitude, Larian, inXile, HBS and other kickstarters, the future of PC gaming may be a good one.

I stopped playing the game last week.

Tried to pick it back up today.

Remembered that when I last left things off, I was going through each area looking for quarries and logging sites for my castle upgrades.

And that when I made a castle upgrade to the walls, they didn't change the look of the walls at all.

And that even after that, the changes to the castle are purely cosmetic. There'll be no siege to the castle at any point in the game.

Nothing I did mattered at all.

I turned the game off.

At least I learned that you can completely and utterly fuck up the core combat of a game by doing something as simple as changing a sustained attack to something that requires individual clicks for each strike. Seriously, talk about fixing an issue that NEVER FUCKING EXISTED.

Pirated this shit and holy mother of the Internet, this is horrible. Its been said hundred times already in this thread but whatever - the game is a textbook example of a shitty design. Bioware does not even understand how games work, how basic mechanic work and what fun is.
Timed missions - 15 hours to get uberweapon. You are not doing anything, you are not putting any effort or resources in it - you put time in it. And not even game time - you turn off your comp and then voila - next day you have a superweapon. It's a nextgen level of rewarding.
At last the game lost last pieces of RPG elements. Choices reminded me of Mass Effect - purely cosmetic, without any effect on the game world. You are forced into neutral-to-good alignment, almost no "evil" choices present(there's no significant choices anyway).
I am level 17 or 18 and still haven't used shops. Not even once. There are hundreds if not thousands of items but there's absolutely no point in crafting or buy something. So far I've used gold only to buy some quest item.
Writing is...well, we already had a lot of mocking pictures in the thread.
The world is huge and empty. Nothing but combat encounters, nothing but gazillion fetch quests, nothing more complex than "move to X kill Y'.
Entire quest system stinks of MMO. The combat is a neverending grind of a HP bloats. Fighting a dragon is THE most disappointing experience so far. 15 minutes of holding R and occasional moving you characters. Speaking of characters - even DAII companions shine like a star compared to DAI bland bunch of walking banalities.
Overall I shudder and despair at the very thought that someone paid 60 bucks for this crap.

I was considering playing this just to get Cassandra's tits love scene and another one where supposedly some female shows her butt and kneels down to give blowjob. But I can't bring myself to play it even with the promise of nudity.

I liked the part of electing the next king of Orlais. Dialogue choices seemed meaningful and I had to read them before selecting something. However in the rest of the game it wouldn't matter what I picked among the available responses.

That one mission is probably the only time the plot and dialog were interesting. Similarly the early mages or templar mission is probably the only time combat was interesting.
