I lost access to a computer that could reliably run Aurora. It's a finicky bitch sometimes, disagrees violently with WINE, and I didn't want to spend the time setting up a Windows VM.

If Aurora only had proper support for network multiplayer pitboss style, this would not have been an issue.

Although a big problem in implementing that IMO, is that aurora forces you to research new component designs. If you could toggle it off for multiplayer, or do what Alpha Centauri does and have the first ship/base be a prototype that takes longer to build. That and sensor interruptions.

Yeah, the game would pretty much had to be re-designed and re-built for proper multiplayer support.
