The winners of the GET DECKED contest are posted, including the runners up. without further ado, here's the winners and a few clips of what the judges said about each deck:

Billy B's Gladiator

Exitium: Billy B’s gladiator is a fine piece of work. The runners-up are almost as good as this hunk of walking death but as you can clearly see in the screenshot, he’d probably beat the hell out of them with his twin hammers. He strikes a pose as he strikes his enemies, and looks good doing it. I’d pay to see anyone try to go up against this juggernaut.

Malak's Seraphim

Vault_Dweller: Malak easily wins the best seraphim because it’s just that perfect. Everything is great and just right from the items coordination to the bonuses to the mighty staff she’s wielding. The pose though deserves a special praise. I don’t know whether or not itwas chosen on purpose or by lucky accident, but it works extremely well and fits considering the divine nature of the character.

Congrats to the winners of the contest, thanks to all who entered. I hope to see everyone in the game March 23rd to see how DECKED OUT people get in the full version of Sacred.

Good job, defiently had a some mean looking charachters.

Now that I lost, I'll have to find out where you live, stalk you, and then kill you in your sleep.

But we all know most gamers don't sleep, so I'll just stop now.

Well, if it's any consolation, I'd say most of the people who entered late in the contest probably know a LOT more about the game now, because of the contest, than they did before it started. So, it's time well spent just learning all the ins and outs of how the game starts out.

Winners look nice

Hey the winners look nice, i wish i would have known you wernt looking for the best, just the best looking. I mean i used a 4 socket armor with +1 all skills +25 strength +6 dex + many other notable mods, in the background you can see im wearing a 1 handed sword with a max dmg of 197 (Jason C's GLadiator - page 3) But i would not even pick my gladiator if any 1 saw Nathan D's Glad (page 4) 1 handed iron negotior wiith over 200 base dmg and enemy's with lower lvl die on sight +3, that glad would never need to swing that monsterous maul. I know that all of you work so hard on rpg codex you dont have time to find out about all of the exploits to the demo. Like when you save the mans daughter above the farthest town, every time you talk to him he drops a combat art if you stand behind him and click on your mouse to talk and click ok without moving your mouse you can watch t.v. and drop over 1000 combat arts in just minutes, The gladiator that won prolly had over 40 in the skill his item had no effect on his damage, I wish the experts had more time to reseach a very bugged demo before letting a cheater win a contest.

personally i think some of the choices were ok

first the gladiator ... steven d should have won that i think easily. Everytime i checked the pictures in the gallery that one always stood out and the fact it looked amazing

the seraphim ... hate to say it but i think i should of won, i aint gonna start *****ing or ne thnig cause im just grateful that u guys had this contest which i think is pretty cool. Reasons for my opinion, i basicaly had the whole set of that yellow armor ... my weapon just kicked *** ... hate to say it but no1 had a weapn near mine in the seraphim catgory... plus which no1 had in the conest was the glow ... how i got that was with 15% physical as well as 15% magical ... mostly every1 had 1 of them .... didnt know how the contest was really judged cause the winners didnt really have the BEST items

thanx for the contest

my winners lol steven d - gladiator seraphim - me lol

I would like to thank RPGcodex for the contest. You are right, because of it I did learn a lot more of the game.

I have to say, I was shocked to hear I won. When I first entered, there were few Seraphim in the contest, and mine was looking very nice. But as the entries streamed in afterwards, I started to doubt my chances. Many of the entries do look very nice. When I entered my Gladiator, I knew he had no chance. He was functional, but not even near the good looking as the rest. Congrats to the other winner and the rest of you.

I have to say, I like the Seraphim, and I plan on playing it when I get the game. Her ability to take on numerous minotaurs at once compared to the gladiator's need to divide and conquer proves she is quite powerful. Maybe... too powerful :P

Here is the answer:

Judging will be done by RPGCodex staff, and will be based on the item's statistics as well as how your character looks
After all the contest was called Get Decked (decked - to clothe elegantly), not Get ph4t l3wt

The gladiator that won prolly had over 40 in the skill his item had no effect on his damage, I wish the experts had more time to reseach a very bugged demo before letting a cheater win a contest.
Trust me, the damage output of characters had no effect on the decisions.

Well Then, I guess if two hammers can win the affection of the staff because…

The Hammers of his are just that awesome and they look good too.
The site must be run by little kids, especially since they only have 50 max damage. Incase I am thrown out because I challenged the Site ( Something a Child would do) Congrats to all the winners and runner-up’s!

I thought this was the Best DECKED Gladiator and Seraphim Contest? You should have named it Best LOOKING Gladiator and Seraphim Contest, Maybe then People would know what you want. Then again do you know?

Look at me, ma, I challenged teh Site!!! and now they may throw me out!! because I spoke teh truth! Congrats to the winners although he's a cheat0r.
You may be under the impressions that we are a bunch of kids, but everybody else must be thinking that you're a whiny idiot. No offense meant, just stating the obvious. As for the hammers they are real and they are spectacular!

One more time, for slow people, Decked = to clothe elegantly. What part of that you don't understand? If people don't understand words they should be looking them up for educational purposes.

I would just like to say that 50 damage or 200 damage, the game is based on strategy. My weapon may not do as much damage as your weapon, but I could take on anything and everything in the demo with EASE. It's like bragging about getting 500 fps in your favorite game while your friend only gets 60. Neither of you will see a difference, so why does it matter?

Shh! If people figure that out, the entire graphics card industry will be doomed!

(Yes, I know better hardware is important and I've been guilty of spreadsheet comparing myself in the past, but honestly, I'd rather pay $50 less than gain a couple frames on the Joneses.)

VectrA[wK], do us all a favour and get over your sour grapes. Had you actually read the rules of the contest, you might have seen this:

"Judging will be done by RPGCodex staff, and will be based on the item's statistics as well as how your character looks."

Yeah, I already pointed that out to him, but apparently reading comprehension isn't his strongest side.

The damage range on his reverence is pretty small for a high level Reverence CA, and you'll note that all his CAs are fully charged with a Concentration of only 4. If it were level 40 in that CA, I would expect all his CAs to be recharging for a long, long, long time.

u guys keep underlining the way the character looks but right before that is the items statistics ... either u did look at are statistics or u didnt its one of them because the barb had massive dmg with that combat art yet his normal attack sucked ... so its one of them
and we all know his combat art was cheated another thing u guys said u wouldnt take is cheaters ?

either way ur wrong for picking that barb to win im sorry i aint even saying my barb should of won u guys had some phat barbs ... especially steven d or b forget

he had basically the same weapon as the winner but looked amazing

still think i should of won with the seraphim i think my char was just as good as every1 elses as far as looks in my opinion better ... that glow that i have no1 had ... maybe the staff didnt realize or something but that glow wasnt from a skill thats from items then my items are in a league of its own ... i had the best items for a seraphim hands down

i guess i can take me not winning cause its me so maybe my opinion is biased but steven ds or b whatever hes name is should of won that barb contest

Well Saint.... I’m still here! I’m surprised it let me log back in, I know your all busy updating the site and you haven’t gotten around to removing me. Now those of us who have had the free time to play around in the demo and know about the trick, (or just found out through me) you know that even a level 50 Combat Art will last longer then the recharges. And if he had plans on what he was going to do, he would have only used the combat art he needed for the massive damage and only used 1 for the other combat arts so that they would only be at 6 (that means at 6 the recharge would be fast) and the level 50 combat art damage art would have a long recharge, but he never used that high damage combat art. (Meaning it would be full) Also saying CA, that’s pretty clever, I would never think typing Combat Art would be so hard.

ABSOLUTELY NO HACKING YOUR CHARACTERS TO GET COOLER ITEMS. If we even think this has occurred, we’ll ask for a save game of the thing.
Now we all know it has occurred because getting those items are impossible because I researched that hammer it cost over 100k gold to buy, before I stumbled onto that exploit I played the demo legit, I killed all the monsters and all the animals, I sold every item I got and barley managed to get 100k gold, that’s with NOTHING else, I have no problem with using the exploit, or others who used it two, But the winners should have been legit players, I agree with Playa69er who said it in 2 posts

And it’s really sad that you attack me for having an opinion about how you don’t follow your own rules. And if you’re going to continue to attack me I’m going to take the time to quote every typo on your site. Now I don’t have the free time to sit and “tell off” all of those who commented about how I’m Just Sour that I lost. I will say this, I never thought I would win because I used the Glitch, but to see others win who used it too isn’t fair, its bad form for the Site. BEFORE you go and say something stupid about me spend your time learning how to spell, and please don’t make me find them, I don’t have the time to make a fool out of you.

I would just like to note my gladiator has lvl 4 reverence, and the combart art damage reads over 8k, well above what the winner's gladiator says. He didn't cheat, it would have been a lot higher if it was lvl 40.

Actually, they're attacking you for your lack of understanding of the English language. They're looking for looks. All along they've been talking about how good each of the entrants *looks*. Damage was also mentioned. Indicating that this was never "all about damage". If it was, people wouldn't have bothered making their characters look good?

Nothing better to do?

Wait, so you say you cheated and then knowingly entered a competition where cheating wasn't allowed? Good Gods!! YOU SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED!

VectrA[wK] said:

So because you reckon he cheated and because you cheated, you should win because you cheated first? Interesting. Why aren't you arguing that you should both be disqualified?

Don't make you find them? Find what?

You also lack the intellectual capacity. But keep trying.

By the way, no-one gets banned over here and threads don't get locked. I'll see you again on page 9. ;)
