Man of Prey (Marauder) continues to pique my interests, anyone have opinions on this?

Off the top of my head -
Ukrainian devs:
Stalker CoP is well worth it if you went through the first two games.
The Metro games are very railroaded, but highly atmospheric, and the shooting is fun.
The Men of War games are as fun as they are challenging.
Russian devs:
Pathologic is one hell of a ride, but the gameplay is a bit of a mixed bag.

I'm not into RTS, but I've heard good things about Cossacks.

And from personal experience, Age of Pirates series takes a bit to love but with mods you get a pretty decent pirate game.

If Ukrainian games count, then Cryostasis is p good. It did the "story-driven linear horror FPS with eastern European feel and pretty graphix" thing few years before first Metro.

Grimwulf, please enlighten our dear friend about the wonders of the Konung series.

Ah, yes. Konung, that piece of sh wonderful gem. Fuck this game and fuck me for playing it.

I was going to post some arguments, but attempting to remember that experience is basically raping the brain. It's not pleasant, men. Don't play Konung. In fact, don't play russky games - wtf is wrong with you?

Thank you for the recommendations.

Yeah I bought and played Konung 1 back in the day. I didn't really like it too much.

Man of Prey (Marauder) is currently going for 69p in the steam sale

I remember about 8 years back or so playing an RPG based on a russian fantasy book series. You had a party (not pregen but NPCs picked up along the way), it was realtime and the world was steampunky fantasy with guns and magic mixed together. There were also a lot of trains, like really a lot of them if I recall correctly you used them to journey through the maps. Anyone remember this game? Possibly by 1C Company.

A Farewell to Dragons?

Wow, that was quick! And yes, that's the game! The reason why I love this community

Also +1 for Ascension, even though the balance is off (the beginning can be brutal and later on it turns into a cake walk) it's a fun game. There's even a sequel.

Speaking of book-based games, Night Watch was surprisingly decent.
And, there is also (Belo)russian World of Tanks (planes an ships)

Farewell to dragons seems like an OK game, too bad English version has a game breaking bug.

Dearest OP. There is this one picture, which was created (I do not claim the authorship!) specifically for the situations like this one. Methinks, you will like this picture very much.
List_of_exUSSR_Videogames_4chan.jpg

Also, the high-res version download link.
N.B. The actual original name of the picture, "Православный Игропром", translates to Orthodox (as in Eastern Orthodox Church) Gamebiz (meaning Videogame Industry) and is an ironic treatment of a local memetic catchphrase (originally enforced, I think, via local gaming press and local gaming expos).
As for translation. Maybe I'll do something about it, maybe I won't. Don't hold your breath. I did translate roughly half of it 4 years ago, but I can't find this translation anywhere on my HDD, as of this moment, and the corresponding 4chan thread is long since lost. So, it is what it is for the time being.

Was it a DOS or a Win 3.1 game, I don't remember.

Well, in thirdworldia you played what you could.
