More action garbage?
What's wrong with action rpgs exactly?

This is the Codex. Not RPG Watch. Turn-based or GTFO.

Are you fucking kidding me? Look at the popular forums here, the JRPG is killing with console games like Dragons Dogma, Metal Gear, and Dark Souls. The most loved games here from the last couple years are Witcher 3 Fall Out 4, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age Inquisition and other action console trash.

At least the staff at RPGWatch made Underrail, a real crpg, one of the 2015 award things. I highly doubt the staff here would ever pick a crpg for an award, unless they were trying to show how much cred they have. I can't count the staff of RPGCodex that actually play and like crpgs on my testicles.

And also, why not get off your ass and make the CRPG Safe Place subforum so you won't have to be subjected to my non-console game awareness posts.

Yes, parrot. What this site needs is more parrot.

And just what this site needs, more shitty ACTION games.

This is the codex. We like PC specific games, and turn-based combat. Feel free to go to the Watch, they are more your kind of people. You will be welcomed there in open arms...

Those bastards IP banned me so I am not welcomed to the puritanical inquisitor site of witch-hunting terrorists with open or closed arms. The have pitchforks and torches for old Uncle Roqua.

Also, I love party-based, turned based games the most. That is my thing. Tell more developers to make more good TB games and I'll post about those. But, since beggars can't be choosers I post about games that are more than one trick ponies and look like they have a decent rpg system and decent character development.

If I were to only post about games with good combat that would be way to restrictive. Look at your top 50 list. Only a couple of the games on there had objectively "good" TB combat that required strategy, tactics, planning, non-gimped characters, and a non-retarded player. In fact, all the top games had combat that was so ridiculously bad and easy I could get through 95% of the game's combat by slapping my penis on my mouse while fingering my own bum.

Pixel Piracy was actually nice, but got killed by the heap of stupid AI bugs. And other bugs.
And the ugly interface.
But watching some pixel dudes throwing their shit around like monkeys was pretty hilarious.

And at some point, it seemed that the devs pretty much stopped support.
Which is understandable if the project did not earn enough revenue, but still not exactly super promising.

Actually, at it's core "Pixel Piracy" was a veeery addictive and fun. You basically recruit and develop a team of pirates (there are stats, perks, levels, different weapons, healing options), while also improving your ship and managing the "jobs" (fishing, cleaning, cooking...) on it. Pirates have mood, need food, etc.. You then travel the open sees and raid other ships and islands and what not... It was super addictive for the first 1-2 days.

The thing is: this concept works only if the game is balanced. Pixel Piracy was not - at certain point your dudes were equipped with super overpowered weapons and were raping anything, including the 4 "legendary" (supposed to be end game) pirate ships. So during battles there was no danager whatsoever and you could stick with your "immortal" team forever... Unlike ex. "Battle Brothers", which seems to do it right.

I also liked the presentation a lot. It was goofy, cartoonishly funny, including dringking/singing during sailing and in taverns and so on...

So if they can re-skin and re-balanced this for space, it could be very fun. Not to mention, that in the end they did release a couple of bigger patches for Pixel Piracy. At some point it was also like 3,99 / 0,99 on steam.

I checked the gameplay trailer and I can't say I was impressed. The combat looked messy and lacked the "tactical" part that it was supposed to have, just dudes shooting and damage numbers and healing and what-not in a quick stream of numbers.
