Is that really the plot of XCOM 2? ("New X-COM spells it XCOM, btw.) I haven't played it.
edit: BOY THANKS FOR SPOILERS DICKHEAD!!

Anyway, I told you, man, I fucking told you. This was just my effort. BioWare's writers are on a completely different level. You can be sure they'll do much better.

The plot at the start of XCOM2 basically retcons most of the first game, in the sense that the canon XCOM movement didn't last more than a few months due to the commander getting kidnapped, and that the aliens used him to run a huge amount of simulations.

I don't know anyone that plays an XCOM game for the plot, but that's the basic premise regardless. It's an interesting way to do things, but I've a feeling bioware will want to stay as far away from the ME3 ending corner they painted themselves into as they possibly can.

Will Mass Effect: Hamdromeda be better or worse than Jargon Age: Deposition?

I predict it will be much better, first because sci-fi is inherently superior to fantasy as an general setting.

Second, despite the overall campy writing of mass effect, it's still much more enjoyable experience, both in terms of plot and characters.

Third, the gameplay in the mass effect series is actually a fun third person action game.

Precisely my opinion.

Inquisition had a lot of problems but it was at least some sort of return to form after the abysmal / so-awful-its-hilarious Dragon Age 2. Doesn't exactly say much, if anything, but it WAS a much better game nonetheless. As to how Andromeda will do, well, I think Dragon Age is the slightly less incompetent franchise to be honest. I think it's safe to say Andromeda will be a mostly terrible game, much like most of the Mass Effect series.

This was probably suggested a million times already, but EA should do a spin-off series in isometric TB combat (not gonna happen, I know...). Much like the originals, you could be some sort of merc going around the galaxy doing missions (ex. working for Aria), recruiting new members, fighting other merc groups like the Blue Suns or the Blood Pack, or even the Reaper ground troops.
After finishing the trilogy I was left with a sour taste, not just because of the ending, but mostly because I feel this series had higher potential going the strat-RPG route instead of action-dating-sim one.

I only played first Mass Effect but... what's this about a program with Tricia Helfer's voice? :O

Also she's a good choice... why no Caprica Sixes on Mass Effect, dude? Caprica >>>>> Liara though.

She voices EDI, the second Normandy's artificial intelligence:

latest

In Mass Effect 3 she obtains a robot body and becomes a fully-fledged squadmate:

There is also a LOT of porn of her made in Source Filmmaker, which uses the above robot body as a model.

I kept expecting the computer in Ass Effect 2 to call me Gaius in a sexy whisper-voice and try to turn me against the other humans. Big disappointment, would not nuke Caprica/10

http://www.shacknews.com/article/97565/new-mass-effect-andromeda-details-leak-via-retailer-listings

EA and BioWare are preparing to reveal more information regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda today, but it appears new information and its box art have leaked prior to its official reveal.

According to Mass Effect: Andromeda’s retail listing, players will be tasked with leading the first humans into Andromeda as they set out on a “desperate search” for a new home as the Pathfinder, a leader of military-trained explorers. Their adventure will introduce them to new and interesting characters who find themselves “caught up in an epic space saga” shrouded in mystery and galactic conflict.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will feature destructible environments, boosted jumps, and new weapons and Biotics that promise to improve its combat system. To further improve the experience, a much more flexible skill and weapon progression tree will be included. Players can also expect their choices throughout the game to determine mankind’s survival and a multiplayer mode for up to four players.

EA and BioWare are planning on releasing a new Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer later today.

That was a really underwhelming trailer. Good that Bioware is keeping up with their standards.

Villains look like Collector-Vorcha hybrid.
We have new Reaper like war machines.
Everything looks uninspired.
And why is Bioware obsessed with main character being grabbed by the throat? ME1 had it, Dragon Age 3 had it, and now this.

It serves to characterize main villain. This act shows villain sees himself as dominant upon other species.
Is villain performed by Saren's voice-actor?
