I played that on the GameBoy, where it's called Gargoyle's Quest.

Nowhere near as fun as this one looks to be.

There are actually three games in the series: Gargoyle’s Quest on GB, which you played; Gargoyle’s Quest 2 on NES, considered as a prequel, it keeps the same formula as the first game but improves things a lot and it’s a blast to play; and then Demon’s Crest on SNES, which is a bit different from the first two games and is one of the best actions games on the system, which of course means that it flopped.

'Hello? I got four fresh meat to pick up. Yea? Steveland. Thanks.'

01.jpg

Too many mouths to feed, and can't risk a caravan trip. We're going to have to call in 555-SLAVERS.

Putting one of them in the same cell as crazy fat bitch Frazier may be a mistake.
The bitch beat up her cellmate lowering her victim's market price even further.

02.jpg

Still not satisfied, she resumed banging the steel door.

03.jpg

At last at 2200, she finally had enough and allowed Steve to haul her cellmate out of there.

04.jpg

dibens was on feeding duty when suddenly the newly transferred prisoner lost it and punched dibens on the face. She beat a hasty retreat out of the cell. And the prisoner turned her attention to her cellmates instead.

05.jpg

The melee was on.

06.jpg

But this time, Nelson showed Cross who's the big man in the cell.

07.jpg

In order to stop this chain of insanity, beds were finally provided as well as source of warmth.

08.jpg

Those slavers can't come soon enough. And came they did. Right as a toxic fallout begin to happen in the surrounding area.

09.jpg

The slaves were sold for 2000 silvers and medicine. Steve shook hands and bid the caravan good luck.
Seeing the toxic fallout above meant less work to be done outdoors. Sensing a loss of productivity, Steve sends Kalin and dibens out to settle a new mining colony with scant few packets of meal in their possession.

They arrived safely and found a decent outpost.
But the fucking selling of slaves triggered guilt within their hearts.

11.jpg

I call bullshit on this. FFS.

'Kalin's Kamp to Steve's Throne, come in.'
'This is Steve's Throne. Over.'
'We found a solid steel wall near our outpost. Shall we proceed?'

01.jpg

'Tell dibens to make preparations. I'll send over some help before you crack open the walls.'
02.jpg

03.jpg

04.jpg

'Those graves are ominous, man.'

05.jpg

'Take up positions and get ready...'

The time is 1100 hours. A solar eclipse is affecting the area. Perfect for the attackers.
dibens will start a campfire by the walls to illuminate whatever is within.

06.jpg

'HQ. Proceeding with operation Slavik.'
'Proceed. Over and out.'

The wall crumbles.
'HQ WE HAVE HOSTILES! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!'
'Weapons free!'
'Dibens get the fuk out of firing line!'

07.jpg

'HQ, I see people inside. Holy shit. There are at least four of them!'

08.jpg

'Do not attempt a rescue just yet. Concentrate on neutralizing the threats.'

One of the giant centipede tried to open fire from the small opening, but its flame cannon lit up the interior instead, hurting the inhabiants.

09.jpg

'Shit. We have confirmed casualties within the complex!'
'Keep firing'

10.jpg

11.jpg

'Fire is starting to spread! Dibens, deploy countermeasure!'

14.jpg

15.jpg

16.jpg

'Countermeasure deployed...'

17.jpg

18.jpg

Nicely done.

19.jpg

A stray inferno round caught dibens and he suffered burns. Kalin came to the rescue.

21.jpg

22.jpg

The eclipse is over and the victor is clear.

23.jpg

'Hostiles neutralized.'
'Any friendly survivors?'
A long pause.

24.jpg

'Everyone's dead. We got a small fire within the complex and three badly damaged cryo pods.
'Nabeh.'

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Bloodrayne 2. The patch worked well, and all the options can be activated in-game via soft reset. Combat is more interesting, but the hook puzzles are overused and one particular can be really frustrating (the 4 music columns in the club). Lots of decapitations, legs and arms flying everywhere and there is so much blood after every encounter. The pistols are nice addition and most effectively used on normal enemies, boss battles need more finesse and how to use blocking and evading. Some levels are too small compared to the first game, but I can blame consoles on this. Also, lots of quality T&A.

Ephemera and Severin have a tragic backstory in the comics, though it's used for lulz in the actual game dialogue.

The interior art is alright too, unlike that bait (quality cover) and switch (tumblr artists for the actual comic) nu-Tomb Raider comic.

I've read the Bloodrayne comics and they are really bad in all senses.
'Sides, Rayne herself is completely stolen from 2000AD's Durham Red. (google Durham Red Mark Harrison)

I still love Bloodrayne though. I just wish it was a Durham Red game.

'Ready boys?'

Another vault is located. And the team moves in position.

01.jpg

02.jpg

03.jpg

One of the caterpillar is equipped with a turret. But its shots went wild in the dark.

04.jpg

The second one is equipped with an inferno gun. And it didn't miss.

05.jpg

Panic ensues. Luckily a countermeasure was in place.

06.jpg

07.jpg

The battle was won with minor injuries and the cryo pods undamaged.

08.jpg

Alkeides and Kalin commence with parts removal as treatment begins for the injured.

09.jpg

10.jpg

11.jpg

A day later, a distress call came. It's Lhynn and he needs rescue from a band of raiders.

'Are you willing to carry heavy loads?'
'Yes'

12.jpg

'Alright, come to this coordinates...'

We need that extra hauler. But our defense turrets were set up on the opposite side of the map facing the vault as a cost saving measure. Great Leader Steve insists the defense is unaffected and hauls one turret back to HQ before the raid arrives.

13.jpg

14.jpg

Looks like a mix between melee and medium range guns.
The eastern wall has no turrets set up. We need to rectify this in the future but for now, Kalin, Excidium and Night Goat take potshots from the two doorways.

15.jpg

The defensive response was sufficient to discourage them from approaching the eastern wall.

16.jpg

But Night Goat 's wounds have reopened. He wished he was a Zen Archer.

17.jpg

One turret should be enough. I hope.

18.jpg

19.jpg

Kalin and Excidium flanks the raiders. Crossfire ensues, victory is clear.

20.jpg

21.jpg

Only one survived. And he's in bad shape. A visiting slaver wouldn't even give more than eighty five dollars and forty cents.

23.jpg

Look at this guy's shooting skills, we can't risk him running free again. And he has a gang, so his chances of joining is very remote.
We sold him for chump change instead of feeding another mouth.

Jinn , Ormagöden - guard the door while I open these cryo pods.
'Can't wait to see what kind of xiao mei mei inside <3'

02.jpg

No one knows why, but opening one cryo pod triggered the opening of EVERY pod in the complex.
The panicked occupants weren't willing to stay around and listen as they rushed for the door.

03.jpg

A black man named Bull raised his SMG and complicates the situation.

'You two. You know what to do. I'll grab the naked girl by that pod.'

04.jpg

05.jpg

'I got the girl, everyone capture the fleeing pod people!'

06.jpg

Lhynn and Night Goat couldn't make a non-lethal takedown and one would-be colonist dies a needless death.

07.jpg

'It wasn't my fault.'
'Maybe you should've rolled a zen archer.'
'Fuck you man. Bitch messed up my face!'
Our great leader isn't too pleased, the pussy he grabbed is a drug addict.

08.jpg

He quickly locked himself in his room and performed battle meditation to aid his colony as the cell turned into emergency treatment room of sorts.

09.jpg

Bull the nigger finally broke out of the vault complex doors and was greeted by turret fire.

10.jpg

Tough sonufabitch lived. But bad news lay ahead.

11.jpg

:shredder: Walaueh.

12.jpg

We can't let them set up a mortar complex.

13.jpg

alkeides 2.0 opened fire from our own mortar, barely missing one of the raiders.

14.jpg

Orma tries a more direct method with a sniper rifle.
But was stunned by the arrival of drop pods.

15.jpg

'HQ. They've got construction materials and rations! Requesting backup!'

16.jpg

'Allahuakbar' orma cried when a high-caliber round tore off her left hand.

17.jpg

But alkeides's mortar shells began to hit their target.

18.jpg

Day turned night. An incendiary launcher was deployed in hopes of luring the raiders to extinguish the flames. It succeeded.
The ensuing deaths broke their morale. The Cannon raiders abandoned their siege and fled.

19.jpg

Meanwhile Bull the nigger spends his last moments in the cells as Lhynn attempts a desperate surgery sans medicine.

20.jpg

Lhynn can't even.

21.jpg

Literally shaking, he excused himself out of the bloodied cell.
Jinn activated the comms console and dialed in 555-SLAVES

22.jpg

Just another day in Steveland.
