They let me choose between letting it escape at the start of combat or 'run them down'
Why ignore free EXP?
Yes, we got EXP from killing a helpless donkey.

Would be interesting to see if in expert mode, if you got encountered, your own donkey would show up on the map, and if you retreated, you would lose your inventory if the donkey died. :troll:

Hey a noob question: How can I find specific settlements to sell my pelts and teeth and stuff in decent prices? I see their prices being much higher than what I can sell them for in most places and it annoys me

Pelts sell for more in settlements with a tanner (possible that you don't have one on the map), but teeth never sell for more than 20 crowns afaik.

No when they attack me when camping (I think), the squad is randomly scattered and of course my archers are the first to be engaged and of course slaughtered

*It might also be that it happens only when moving through forests

Beta Update 0.9.0.31
New events and music, balance changes, quality of life improvements, bugfixes.

Please continue to report any issues in the appropriate forum following the instructions there - do not post them as comments here, they'd only get buried and lost, and may miss important Information.

Changelog
  • Added 10 new events.
  • Added one new music track.
  • Added option to have no late game crisis occur when starting a new campaign.

  • Changed starting inventory size to 90, up from 81. Requires a new campaign to take effect.
  • Changed fleeing characters to move to the end of the turn order, in order to allow for more counterplay like rallying or rotating them out of danger, before they potentially kill themselves, and to no longer penalize high-initiative characters.
  • Changed Geists to have their previous ranged defense restored in light of the changes above.
  • Changed 'Faster Movement' options to no longer teleport characters across the map, but show a greatly sped up movement animation, so one can better see who's moving where.
  • Changed 'Faster AI Movement' option to also speed up any turn sequence bar animations.

  • Fixed worldgen potentially getting stuck after recent changes.
  • Fixed potential crash when clicking wildly on the map during a rotation move.
  • Fixed a certain legendary item's effect potentially crashing the game under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed characters not dying properly to 'Miasma'.
  • Fixed people's mood suffering from there being no provisions even when escorted caravan would provide it for the duration of the contract.
  • Fixed issue with loot of allies dropping for the player even if it shouldn't.
  • Fixed issue with 'Defend Settlement' contract.
  • Fixed issue with 'Last Stand' contract.
  • Fixed issue with 'Siege Fortification' contract.
  • Fixed various minor issues.

rapsdjff Maybe you could take a look at my comment in the previous page? A pair of Kleinigkeiten that could be fixed!

Also add that archers occasionally don't end their turns automatically, even with 0 AP. I think after reloading but not sure atm

A man walks into a doctor's office. When he sees the doctor, he raises his arm behind his head and hooks his right elbow on the left side of his neck. He tells the doctor: "It hurts when I do this. What should I do?" To which the doctor: "Don't do that."

Yes, we'd like to do both Mac and Linux eventually. Unfortunately it's something we'll not be able to tackle until after the game has left Early Access.
Now as the game is close to release, do you happen to have any update on that?
(I mean eg. whether you still wish to do it or anything else like to share)

In case you'll need to test some linux alpha down the road, I would happily buy the game and give feedback from running on a few configurations.

Also voted in the GOG wishlist, there are now around 120 votes. *crossed fingers*

Ran into Brigand vs Caravan scenario in the wild - except there's no engagement at all from brigands / caravan side until I manage to locate the brigands who are already down to 5 from their starting 8 on the world map.
They were passive until located.

Is this intended behavior or a bug?

Great LP. This guy does everything wrong possible and then blames the game. Says it's RNG. Check out that pike action. Why making these games are such a risk. Gamers are not the introspective sort. "Why is my guy in a sack cloth getting rekt? Herp depr!"

Watching people play this game is almost as fun as playing it.

Guy clicks the Abilities buttons with the mouse and End turn with it as well. What do you want? He might as well be an Obshitian.

I love the RNG complaints. Sure I get mad as fuck as well when I play at times. Same with X-com and everything else turn-based, but some people expect to always hit at 95% and faults the game for it. Check the reviews, always the same complaints about RNG. I wonder how these people keep playing these games without understanding simple "chance".

I consider that part of the fun. Amazing things can happen in your favor, too. So it's fair I think. And if you're at the mercy of RNG, then your tactics are lacking. It's a lot of surviving murphy's law.

I feel I'm more at the mercy of RNG in X-com than Batte Brothers.
In Battle Brothers most of the dudes can take a couple of hits, but a plasma bolt will melt a rookies face off :)

That LP'er gave me cancer, indeed. I wonder if he's clicking the fucking buttons instead of using keyboard shortcuts because:
a) He's retarded.
b) He's disabled.
c) Video purposes :retarded:

This guy was fully retarded. I mean how hard is it to just read the percentages before the attack?

I like this game because it's far less luck based than nu-xcom.

while bb has its bullshit rng moments, it rewards safe and conservative playstyles instead of forcing you to take bad rolls. if you lose a bro due to whiffed attacks, almost always there is something you could have done to avoid that situation. usually the problem is not having enough contingency plans (bros with rotate, shieldbash, nimble, nine lives, morale boost, ect)

Well, it's not too bad: at the moment 95% of almost 1.700 reviews on Steam are positive.

That number will probably go down a bit after release, but I'm pleasantly surprised!

RNG can definitely go in your favor too. These crazy one shot kills from random bolts for example :smug:
