Battle sisters confirmed? I doubt they would make such detailed and varied sprites just to represent a battle effect from one single type of enemy.

Depending on implementation, I'm not against it. Just make sure they are rare(one Joanna D'arc like character every blue moon, not a world full of amazons). "whore" background mandatory, with morale bonuses to the bros.

Given the grim and gritty atmosphere of the setting, I'd be surprised to see Battle Hoes. Maybe if their stats are all terrible, but in that case why bother in the first place?

EDIT: Removed an extra s

Nope, looks like nothing has changed in that regard (and I'm happy with that):
Battle Sisters are outside the scope of the DLC, I'm afraid. The issue was never creating the art assets, but the fact that we'd have to account for both sexes in virtually all the texts in the game, which at last count consist of more than 250.000 words.

And btw, Joan d'Arc wasn't doing much fighting (although she was wounded by the crossbow bolt) and I think that fact was used to defend her during her trail.

She was mostly a standard bearer, yes, but she was both knighted and carried armor and sword into battle. She also personally lead the siege of Orleans at the vanguard. There are none examples even close to her in western military history.

You guys are probably right, come to think of it. Implementing battle sisters would both be too much work and make librul heads explode considering the setting and tone of the game.

An easter-egg one-time event thing character could be done though. Just make sure normal bbros events don't apply to her and no immense text altering work has to be done. Give her her own couple set of events.

Lol i remember this piece from Blood of the Nord:

"Then there is Viviana, the fearsome... well, come to think of it i'm fairly certain she's just a prostitute who follows Roland everywhere. Is this more of the norm nowadays? Bringing empty headed sexual playthings on perilous adventures. Gods that seems irresposible to me".

One thing about this game that always irked me is how hard it is to find the right bros.
This isn't a game about a cherry picked dream team of magical superheroes
It would be the best to have an optional character creator, with a possibility to choose traits, preferred stats and leveling paths, that way we'd satisfy both sides, we could play a band of heroes or have a team of disabled retards as a challenge run for the masochists. But that would be an useful thing, too much to ask for in that "more of the same" DLC.

That feels more like an exploit. If you are into that kind of thing there is also already a save game editor where you can edit your character's skills and traits. Cheating takes the fun of the game though. Turning losers into an efficient outfit is part of what makes battle brothers so entertaining.

Yeah, creating your own bros is just one more step towards the kinds of playthroughs where you carefully plan it all out, lose no bros, and slowly but surely crush your opposition. Fuck that shit.

Seriously, you found a great bro but he has a weak heart? Take him along. In my last run my last surviving founder bro lost an eye, had to switch from a ranged specialist to a frontliner, and still contributed to defeating the orcish invasion. My two-handed bruiser specialist lost about three limbs along the way, but that just added to the fun of carefully managing his weaknesses and setting things up for him to decapitate two enemies per turn. People are just defeated by their imagination because they keep reloading and recruiting when they don't find the perfect bro.

I must have made a little over 10 playthroughs(most didn't go beyond the second crisis or stopped even before that, the first few didn't go far) before the dlc was announced, so I certainly haven't played this nearly as much as most people posting in this thread.

However, I can point out that my ironman playthroughs were intensely more fun than my earlier playthroughs where I savescummed a lot and managed to keep most of my party alive after every battle. It was rage inducing to suffer severe setbacks in ironman, specially losing your most powerful bros or having them become useless cripples you had to retire, but damn it was fun.

I agree that recruiting needs a little fixing(no reason why you can't know more about the man you are hiring, some obvious traits should be visible), but character creation? Fuck that shit, if you are into that use the save editor.

Also on the subject of ironman, my two longest playthroughs stopped because I had permanent destruction turned on. I know the devs said that is the way the game is meant to be played, but this needs a little work. You can't travel fast enough to protect all settings and after a while I realized that you basically have to focus on a small area of the world and will end up with some 3-4 settlements and a huge wasteland. It really breaks the game and makes it hard to survive another crisis after an undead or greenskin invasion.

Having cities become undead necropolis after being taken by the walking dead was a very cool touch though.

Don't see the point of negativity, there are countless uses for built-in character creation. Nobody says that you should use it to cheat the game and make people with no flaws. Don't know about you, but I always felt more attached to characters I made and named myself instead of generated by a random script. Besides you could make only one, your RPG-style protagonist, and recruit everyone else in a traditional style.

Permanent destruction is fun.
Orc camps provide everything your band will ever need. Fresh meat, tools, sometimes prisoners.

I wouldn't mind the destruction of settlements if they could be 1. Freed from the occupants 2. Rebuilt over time.

People return to their homes even after they're destroyed and build them back up again.

I don't see many refugees returning to Middle East.
Well, it depends. War in Syria is coming to an end, so at least some Syrians are starting to go back. Other "refugees" on the other hand...

IMO permanent destruction should meet two conditions:
1) It should be clear what settlements are being attacked and how much time is left until they are gone, so you can defend them in time or a least try.
2) It should be possible to rebuild them (maybe some special quest for that, like securing resources).

I have many complaints about game but permanent destruction is fine like it's now.

It's results of apocalyptic events in the world(if it really is from game perspective is up to debate). Read about mongol invasion or 30 years war and how they affect population. No city rebuilding in two weeks after war ends.
