Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
This really is a great JRPG. Thought I was getting a bit tired of it at the end of part 1, but they've upped the pace a little now I'm getting into part 2 and after 58 hours I just can't stop playing again. Combat has become a bit less challenging now, but it's not a cakewalk.

I was so nearly put off by the aesthetic of the game and thought it'd be too immature, but that's not been the case at all- it's just been pure fun. 9/10 with one mark off for no combat speed toggle.

After 2 hours finally beat
dora in grey
shit this thing is tough for fucking real.

it uses Charm and accessories that even at +3 onky have like 25% chance resisting

70-90 party wide damage

3 moves per turn

1 attack thats guarantee critical hit, thats pretty nuch OHKO unless you are at full HP

Disabling magic and skills.

Here is how i defeat it using little cheese:

Hsve erik, vero and hero pepped up before battle.

Hav erik kobra strike, then use tundra snd lighting.

Switch up the party line up

Jade/sylv/serena/rab

Jade uses thunder strike with some luck, she deals 220 damage /turn

Serena use hymn of fire and buff and heal

Sylv equipped with best charm resisting accessory and use sobering slap

Rab spams multiheal and sylv helps heal too

The sigil and poison does 250 damage/turn for 3 turn, then switch rab to erik to cast boulderdinger and poisons her again.

Keep up at 110/ turn passive damage while jade keep spamming luck crits.

In 10 turns or so the fucking bitch died like a little bitch.

Fuck. That. Fucking. Bitch

Is it different from other DQ games ?

I always liked stories from those games and characters but gameplay was usually the most boring and dreadful version of jrpg combat.

Woah, i thought u were underlevelled or something. I beat her at lvl 29/30, i guess i had lucky rng. She kept attacking my main without killing him by 10/50hp, so yeah, when she finally killed him (and the other 3) she was almost dead already.

Play it with stronger monsters, no fleeing, and weaker monsters give no xp, you shouldn't be disappointed with the challenge if you like turn-based combat. Pretty manageable, requires some out of the box thinking and proper utilization of character skills. Auto-battle works on Normal, on Hard it will get you plastered.

I went from level 70 to 99 in an hour.

thx slime bros
I made a lot of test on the combo while leveling, and I have no idea how the EXP works. The EXP range for the same 3 monsters (2 slimes and one liquid slime, all red eyes) is 200k-500k. I have no idea what makes the difference, I guess Hauleluyah has a random EXP multiplier it applies for each monster (and not for the total EXP).
Also a random thing, as the drops are guaranteed I tried killing the 3 robots it sometime spawns, with one rare (green) one, and the green one drops a super high end one handed sword, it was better by 40 attack power than my very best sword.

Finally collected all the 6 dragon balls and moved on to season 2 of this anime. Glad to see things finally pick up in the story, but I fucking loathe when
you lose your party and have to collect them again. It's always a jarring downgrade in gameplay. I guess the opening theme for this season will be Deja Vu.

just grind bro

Seriously I just got into post game and you can just grind 2-3 extra levels and trivialize the bosses in this game. My boss stack used to be Sylvando for (de)buffs, deeps and heals, Rab for heals and (de)buffs, Erik for the deeps and Serena for Heals. Granted I just finished the mainstory and going to be tackling Post soon.

Killed her in 3 or 4 turns at 34. Just having a couple of fights, and starting against the boss pepped up can make the difference instead of spending the time leveling.

Again, had Brownie Boost ready with Hero / Jade / Serena pepped up. Used it on Jade's first turn. Hero uses Unbridled Blade for ~650 damage. Serena uses Hymn of Ice once, Erik auto attacked with dual Falcon Blades for 250 - 500 depending on crits (seems to be elevated with Falcon Slash / Falcon Blade). Jade multithrust for 600, while Serena either attacks with Lightning Lance, or Multiheals depending on the situation. There was literally no strategy for this fight. Hero even missed a turn because he got turned into a fucking Snowman. Didn't even bother with subbing Veronica in for Sap, or needing Acceleratle from Serena because the game throws Agility boosting gear in your face.

Was afraid the game was getting too easy at this point, part 2 random encounters hit harder than her now.

yeah, in my case she kept using laser beam and critical fingering.

I think I went against the grain a bit and got doppelganger before dual wield on Erik. It offers some crazy damage (x3 damage every other turn, basically a 1.5x damage increase) and can stack status effects. I'm contemplating making two assassin daggers (12% insta kill). Every other turn 6 hits with 12% KO, that's what... a 72% chance of KO? I imagine with dual wield + swords later on it will be hard for other characters to put out comparable damage numbers. (This is without attack bonus, but with minus defense on the troll.)

Square Enix has confirmed the official title for the Switch port of Dragon Quest XI.

The game’s Switch version will be titled Dragon Quest XI S – news confirmed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

Series creator Yuji Horii noted the “S” stands for “Special” and “Switch,” as well as “Shaberu” (Speaking in Japanese), and “Seiyuu” (Voice actor in Japanese).

A release window for the Switch port still isn’t confirmed.

Dragon Quest XI is now available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our extremely thorough review for the game here (we absolutely loved it!).

Ugh, i wish they weren't adding gook VA. This will just make incel weebs cockier, "zomg switch version is the best because it has proper dub!!!". Ugh.

I'm rarely moved by videogames, but the context + the surprise of the moment when the game plays the DQ8 flying song really hyped me, a lot.

Lots say that Greatsword is best choice for Hero compared to Swords early on, and while that's mostly true once you get to the Desert I find killing metal slimes to get to Falcon Slash (which is dirt cheap MP wise) to be the superior option. Eventually you get Gigaslash which hits everything for 16 Mp.

Note that I play on Hard Mode: I find having powerful hit all enemies skills to be more more useful than hitting really hard against one enemy. Erik can handle the single target damage via Cobra Strike / Victimizer to be better for boss slaying. Also having the passive shield block is VERY helpful as even blocking one hit helps survive attacks.

Well, GS has 2 hit groups, including one very cheap you get early (helichopper). The problem is reverse imo, the sword is useless against bosses for a long time (basically until late game) and isn't useful against groups either.

But I guess it's different for everyone, I stick Erik to the supposedly super powerful dual wield knives and I find his damage pitiful.

Helichopter is available much earlier and very cheap and powerful group clear skill.
Edit: Fucking ninjas!

Played myself with sword and board until, i think, tentacular and respecced to two hand and it's more comfortable experience.

The greatsword at the puerto valor casino is insanely strong for early/mid game.
Also, erik/sylbando damage for me is using the critical skills (Persecutter and Victimizer), otherwise they are shit. But those 2 skills hit hard as fuck, specially if u combine them with oomphle and a sapped enemy.

It's shocking how bad the 1h sword moveset is. It's all single-hit utility skills until gigaslash and sword dance, which greatsword also gets plus 2 AoE skills and a bunch of strong single-target attacks. So you're stuck with Falcon Slash for a loooong time. Dual wielding is the only thing that saves it, but that only brings it up to Greatswords in terms of basic damage, the special moves don't benefit from dual wielding much at all. If dual-wield sword dance did 8 hits that might be something, but it doesn't.

Erik with dual falcon blades +3, true dual wielding, and the total +90 sword skills does pretty good damage but he has no other utility. He can triple his damage output for one turn with the shadow image skill but without meaningful sword attacks there's not much point. I don't have his 64mp auto-crit skill yet, that might be awesome. Or maybe I'll try his knife skills. His strength has fallen behind so much at level 40+ that his boomerangs have become totally pathetic.

Welp, I done did it, Finished the game.

140 hours or so.

Only grinding for bosses (if I had too) (no dracgonian shit applied)

Finished last fight with first squad still all alive (Lvs of peeps 80-85) (Hero, Sylv, Ver, 8)

Disappointed there was no "Final Save", so be weary of that when you play. I only had targets and some other quest I didn't complete (harma), now I can't do them.

Never did any metal slime tricks to level, just grinding at the painting or slime island.

No crafting except for things for quests or continue the story.

Great Game, def worth my 59.99.

Hope RDR 2 has the same value next month (but I doubt it).

I enjoyed the ride!

The end credits with all the old DQ screens/videos was pretty leet. :)
