Total Views: 387. Investing into marketing from streamers is really paying off.

I mean, for some games it absolutely does, but it's clearly the wrong approach for Deadfire. I don't understand how anybody over at Obsidian thinks streaming the DLC to a fucking isometric cRPG is gonna get them exposure. Same for that weird-ass marketing deal with Arby's. It's baffling how those decisions get made.

Yes, that's the one I was thinking of. It's a "lance" but technically a staff.

Not sure what it technically is :P It deals Pierce damage like a lance, but hits everyone in an aoe. And transfers any special attacks to groups of enemies. Clear Out (Fighter's Primary attack in an arc with ragdoll effects) with the lance should be quite hilarious, hitting everyone several times. Before that Mule Kick or Monk's Force of Anguish too.

The PL 4 Essential Phantom will also be equipped with your summoned weapons btw.

Ok, which summoned weapon was the one that was pushing enemies when hit?

Warding staff, PL 7. Not that great from what I understand though. For a pure wizard the terrifying corrode Blackbow would also be pretty cool, I guess.

Everyone has been waiting for all the DLCs to release, the game to be complete, and a huge discount on the bundle. There is no benefit for the average gamer to buy Pillars 2 right now. No benefit at all.
I plan to buy D:OS2 on Black Friday :salute:

Actually I read about D:OS 1 (codex review convinced me, eventually) quite a long time after its initial release. It didn't catch my attention earlier because of the graphics which seemed too modern to me and I was looking for an old-school isometric game at the time. Thus, when I got it, it was already EE. And felt the game was absolutely brilliant in terms of gameplay.

I also backed PoE but played it for the first time after 3.0 patch. Didn't have enough time earlier for a big RPG. And to me it was a very good and polished game. I had a great fun with it.

The same happened with Xenonauts.

Now I'm waiting for PoE2 which I also backed to cool down. D:OS2 seems cool already so I'm just waiting for a sale now (I missed KS but decided not to pay much more). And maybe Batlletech after a year or so.

I think CSL is technically a pike, but you can confirm in the weapon description.

Aren't the summoned weapons counted as universal for the purposes of specialization?

Yeah it's becoming the theme with these games that you're screwing yourself over by playing on launch.

ok i decided try this now when 3.0 is out and i have a problem right on the start. where is our thread for POE 2. ?
the main problem that i have is combat. i dont know if im stupid or slow or what is it, but i find it difficult. im struggling to give orders properly and if i let AI do it then i dont see a point of playing the game and if i take full control im fuckin lost after third order or such and of course im dead.. How do you people do combat. what do you do to properly manage all chars coz its a god damn mess as i see it now. i played POE 1 and i dont remmember having this issue.. maybe its chemtrails

Great marketing from VE, to all those 475 subscribers!

Some intern doing a little video on the publisher's YT channel for a couple dozen viewers is still significantly less hilarious/sad than Feargus sitting down in a meeting with Arby's for a marketing deal no one gives a shit about.

What difficulty level? Party members? You know you can pause the game, right?

I keep getting toasted by this fight where your entire party gets transformed into a random assortment of monsters. I can't unlock the seeker fight branch in the arena either because of these damn regenerating spiders that heal faster than my entire party does damage.

I'm a skilled player, but it almost feels like you need a guide while playing this DLC. There are so many weird mechanics at play in the fights that it feels more like a puzzle game.

1. Use the slider under the clock to slow down combat speed.
2. Make sure to target their weaker defenses. Hover over an enemy to see a tooltip with that info
3. Attack with weapons that do the type of damage that the enemy is most vulnerable to (has the smallest Armor Rating)

The good thing is that there are some light branching paths and C&C.
I haven't progressed too far, but it looks like you might only be able to get one soulbound item per playthrough. I'm getting the Missing Content Itch just thinking about it

Always a step ahead of you...

For example I found the second lowest speed to be ideal in most combat scenarios, changing to something quicker in easier fights and use a lot of pause in harder ones. I also try to utilize the AI editor to set up the buff combos I would do at the beginning of the fight, and to reapply the buffs once they run their course (you can set a conditional, e.g.: my monk will use swift strike whenever "self: not have" "dexterity inspiration" - could also add "self:have" "dexterity affliction" to counter debuffs right away. Worth adding a cooldown to any AI conditional though as it might use all your class resources in 3 secs if its hit with arcane dampener). My speed up/down is also bound to PgUp/PgDown respectively so don't have to spend time clicking around that small field, very easy to change the speed of the combat this way.

Konstanten got a nice upgrade. He now has a full dialogue tree and some conversations during the DLC.

It turns out Muatu isn't a full companion, but an upgradeable summon. The files show that he has a full voiceset in combat, but it doesn't trigger for me.

Played around a bit. Combat is properly hard, no arguments there, but so far it's basically just a typical RPG arena with some minor side content.

How far did you get? The fights get crazier and harder the further you go.
