Are there any games with a simulated world?

That's an extremely vague description. What genres are you looking for? Obviously 4x games are like this to begin with. Elona seems to have mechanics like that for all the NPC adventurers but I don't think it ever matters due to the nature of the game.

Mount and Blade seems a lot closer to Space Rangers in terms of there being factions and stuff but still personal level combat and skills. If that's your bag I suggest Starsector. It's been in development for nearly a decade but it still gets regular updates every month or two with some excellent blog posts about new mechanics being added or changed or whatever. Game is very promising and there's already plenty to do in a sandboxy way, plenty of people modding it as well.

Dwarf Fortress.

Depths of Peril. Wizardry 7.

But really, Dwarf Fortress. In 30 years. You will be awe-struck as the AI invents the steam engine, but it will be just a ruse to keep your attention on the computer screen, as the first steps toward world domination unfold behind your back.

Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare is a M&B-like that is in early access right now. Might be something to watch.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Pathfinder: Wrath
Drox Operative. You can go hide in a corner and the game will more or less go on without you.

Believe it or not Zelda BotW.

lol no, Ganon is sitting in castle and doing nothing

The NPC's have schedules, and they react to the environment around them (for example if it's raining they seek shelter). Shit some monsters even hunt.

that's not what a simulated world is, in space rangers the factions wage wars and can exterminate other factions, that is a simulated world.

NPC schedules is just that, NPC schedules and nothing more.

BOTW would have a simulated world if Ganon would be destroying the world.
