X4 will be released nov30 2018 and should be best space sim game in a long while with depth freelancer or SC would wish to have.
After their stunt with Rebirth I wouldn't be so sure. I also have a feeling that they're releasing it too early.

X-Rebirth problems were due to design not due to how buggy game was. It took overhaul New frontiers + few mods to fix basic gameplay to make it kind of good (but it still had design problems) and we knew almost nothing before release.

X4 this time devs are quite open and we can already see this is proper X3 sequel with everything people wanted from them + stuff they wanted to have in X3.

Naturally like all ago games you can probably expect first half a year to be buggy. Still in that pile of bugs there will be amazing game.

Lol X4 will be another boring german snoozefest most likely....... Rebel Galaxy Outlaw seems to be the only promising real game at this point.

:avatard: You guys don't really expect this to be any good, right?

Compared to what? Star Citizen ? No mans sky? or 20 year old privateer? or all those other space games today that don't exist ?

Not sure what to think of it either... it doesn't look bad, but... it also looks like a toy for 5-year-olds.

It looks absolutely great as a Privateer homage! But really I'm just not into playing women in such games. I want a blank slate character. And sorry I want this char to be a man :codexisforindividualswithgenderidentityissues:

I just want a space opera with a strong narrative focus and larger than life characters doing heroic shit to save humanity. Is that too much to ask?

Everyone wants these sandbox space games that they only play for a couple of hours and then get bored.

Played a little bit of the 3.3 PTU test server. It's really crashy right now and there are some lighting bugs, but OCS actually does seem to have fixed their major framerate problems. That horrible stuttering thing is completely gone and besides a few dips the framerate was good. The UI feels a lot snappier now too. It feels playable. Once they get Hurston and ship buying into the game, I could see putting some hours into this with friends.

Only another 3 years and 100 million dollars and maybe they'll have added enough content to make it worth playing for a few hours.
