I don't have any problems with PoE and PoE 2 writing, to be honest. It's quite good, but of course, not as good as high standard set by Van Dosselaer with Divinity games.

That yours demands cartographic soliloquies, every verse a phrase and a phase of mathematics and momentum, every word you speak a part of the map, and you build the rules as you recite them. That mine is raw sensation, synesthesic, sinewy as sex, worthless with context, worth everything on the ledge at the end of time.

overly long, filled obnoxious proses, pretentious words and vague metaphor.

Seems in line with pillars 1 writing. All those paragraph and tells so little, that can be done more effectively using fewer words.

Seriously pal, you, and some other posters above, have some serious mental issues... I mean, you need to be examined by certified mental health care professionals... Do not ignore your mental health, things can improve if you reach out for help in time!

Don't give me that, you know I'm right. Gym culture is simply metrosexuality/effeminacy with a "masculine" coat of paint. You know how real muscles are built? Doing work, real work. If you're sitting around lifting weights all day, you better be in a fire station waiting for my cat to get stuck in a tree.

All that gym culture trash does is promote the idea of "aesthetics." Aesthetics is the leading cause of hitting the gym since it leads directly into a desire to attain more pussy. Because you skipped seven steps and jumped straight to mental health you likely hit up the gym yourself. Now cast aside your little gay, "I grew up without a dad and have to posture on RPG Codex to feel attention" shtick and admit this: you work out to try and get laid. It's fine if you do, I won't fault you, but just know you've officially entered yourself into the remainder of your foreseeable days as a horse. You're just sitting there in the stable hoping Betsy will one day ride you.

But here's the thing TemplarGR, a woman sees you lifting all that weight and going through all that effort and you know what they really think? "Wow, what an easily misled dipshit. I'll never respect a guy that follows crowds and trends, but this benefits me. I'll feign interest but keep getting railed by men in real positions of power while this aspiring personal trainer/unemployed moron I call a husband stays home, jerks off to Blacked porn and vacuums."

You're getting bamboozled. If you're wanting to look big, at least make sure you're making money while breaking your back. Otherwise acknowledge that gym culture has turned men against one another where you now sit around like a bunch of harpy bitches secretly hating some guy that looks more 'shredded' than you.

Mankind is being divided and steadily conquered and here you are talking about how Skyrim took your anal virginity or something. Wake up TemplarGR, start fighting what really matters. I want you to go to the first woman you see tomorrow (not in Skyrim VR, in actual meatspace) and tell her straight up, "I think you're pretty neat, but I'm single, and I don't care about how good you look. If you want to get with me, prove your worth in that gat'dam kitchen and show me how you handle dishes." Then walk away before she can retort or walk away from you faster. You essentially told that woman, "shit's changing around here, cunt."

You're welcome.

That text is actually uncomfortable to read, seriously, it is just not natural.

Using "big" words doesnt mean you have a good grasp of language either. Maybe in cassandra khaw's it is to reflect the character's personality, or whatever it is the intention, but that kind of drivel is pretty achievable using reddit's thesaurus bot.

Of course, this isnt a female writers problem. There are alot of talented female writers, for example in the games industry, we have amy hennig or jane jensen (amy wrote much of legacy of kain series, later uncharted, jane jensen wrote gabriel knight, and several other adventure games)

in the literary world itself, countless of talented female writers graced society.

This is not a problen about gender, more like some of the talents think long prosaic paragraphs that vaguely convey meaning if any, is a sign of a mastery of language.

Infinitron is right when he claims that the future of writing will be women, especially in fiction. You just need to look at the latest books released in the fantasy section over at goodreads to see how many writers are women.

The problem is not with these writers being women, that would be ridiculous, it's more due the poor state of higher education, the lack of good editors and how cheap it has become to publish any shit that comes into your mind.

All fucking Bethesda fans must fucking hang.
I am more in favor of forced labor and compulsory wearing of a blue/yellow badge with Todd's stylized face

I could excuse this if the person who wrote it was on LSD

That's not how it works. First you become a man, then the women take notice of you.

I'd take this further - the problem is that the disparity between technical and non-technical jobs in terms of pay is big and growing. Because the disparity in the demand is big and growing. Therefore technical jobs attract more and more intelligent people who would otherwise have been employed in non-technical jobs. What we get for writers in present day western societies is the leftovers from pretty much everything else.

Contrast this with the periods in the history of literature when writing used to be a hobby for aristocrats and rich people and a side-activity for academians.

Edit: And it *does not* matter how many and of what background graduate from the fucking literature faculties. You don't need a certificate to be a writer, and a good writer too.

Define the "future of writing". Jews make up 0.2% of the world population but 22.5% of Nobel prize winners. Quantity doesn't really correlate with quality.

That women are more numerous at modern liberal arts educations might be working against them tbh.

As far as video games are concerned what develops into the industry norm in terms of composition of writing teams is largely irrelevant when the vast majority of offerings (especially story focused games) are utter trash. Today it's small indie teams and developers outside US that on occasion produce good games. The days of medium and big budget games developed in US featuring good story and design are long gone.

writers used to be people that knew that KJV bible verse for verse and had read the illiad in its original greek. today's "writers" are 103 IQ milquetoasts that read harry potter when they were 23.
