I like how he has to check an obviously dead body with its jaw ripped off. I guess you have to really commit to it if you want those handgun bullets.

Just finished, it’s a must buy fellas. The gore is awesome and it reminds me of RE4 and RE: Revelations 2 the two best games in the series. I didn’t see any licker just zombies in my play through. Looks like they kept with the old style puzzles, all that “need to find a valve” need to find fuckin’ “keypad keys” need to find door knob bullshit. The trailer at the end with
Hunk and Tofu
was pretty awesome. Overall a 10 outta 10 fellas. Think Imma preorder the $70 one with the xtra costumes. Thank you Capcom, thank you.

Also he needs a combat knife for cutting that duct tape of the switch instead of using his bare hands. The risk of spoling his nails is too high!

I see that Leon gets bitten in that gif, and it leaves a mark... but I guess it's not more than that, or has something changed? Would be cool with an added risk, like you eventually turn if you don't get some kind of anti-virus.

So much about demos costing games sales, huh?

Anyway, I also tried it. Took some time and ended up finishing it in just above 20 minutes. It's gorgeous on the production side, and lets you turn off chromatic aberration which is always a plus, but I was personally never sold on TPS Resident Evils so it's just alright in the actual gameplay department for me. Maybe it's time to re-visit modern titles on PC while I wait for this one's price to drop and get myself more acclimated.

...have u never played RE before? you can turn from being bitten but only for story-purposes; during all gameplay any bite you receive will only do damage, and it is never ever referenced by any character, it basically didn't happen "in the story".

TLDR in RE games you don't turn from taking damage during game play, however turning from being bitten can happen within the framework of the game's story if the devs want it.

That, environment and inventory management are what made those old games amazing for me.

Understandable, I definitely felt a pang of nostalgia when I saw the puzzles, typewriters and item boxes but it’s also the reason I stopped playing Code Veronica which took said mechanics to an absurd level.

Resident Evil 2 is the only one of the original trilogy I beat and REmake 2 is different enough that I’m pretty pumped to play the full game. I don’t remember ‘nuthin that happens in he demo happening in the original RE2.

Funny thing reading the paperwork in the police station, the cops reports saying the zombies were “protesters” they were having skirmishes with for days. WTF? DAYS! Cops be like “I don’t know what these people want!! What do you waaant!?!” Zombies, “ArrrrggH!!! Urrrrrrrr!!! Hurrrrrrr!!”

The good things:
- looks polished, graphics are good, runs well
- extensive graphics options
- atmosphere is there, kinda feels like RE2
- puzzles, inventory management, chests, typewriters

The bad things:
- no prerendered graphics
- no fixed cam angles
- it's often too dark
- objectives pop up, get marked on the map, therefore feels more linear than it probably is (not sure if this can be turned off, tutorial messages can be turned off)
- I miss the ability to investigate the environment and get flavour texts
- inventory is there, but it's the same soulless bland looking shit as in RE7
- kinda easy, that may be just the demo though

I recommend it to people who liked the gameplay of the third person/over the shoulder REs.
Mixed feelings about it, if this had the fixed cam angles it would've been a no-brainer, but I thought I'd hate it more, so it's not terrible, it's just not RE2.

It is going to be another boring over-the-shoulder shooter. A real horror experience is given only by careful camera positioning choices, that can given only by a fixed camera approach (or almost-fixed camera, a la fatal frame), or, if you insist, you can use a first person perspective for immersion (a la RE 7.) Furthermore, an one-shot only 30' demo is indicative of a design philosophy apt for a casual consumer shitty game.

I was impressed by the demo. I've never done this, but it looks like I'll have to park the PC in the living room for the couple of days I play it. My surround sound system and big TV added so much atmosphere that my PC's stereo speakers and 27 inch monitor just can't deliver. I was almost considering getting the PS4 version after I played its demo yesterday, because I don't WANT to take my PC to the living room, but this has so many nice graphics options on PC, including the ability to turn off horrible chromatic abberation. The aiming also feels a lot nicer on PC. I also noticed that the PC version has Atmos (height speaker channels), while the PS4 version does not, giving me another incentive to get that version.

You don't have to, I already did thanks to that trainer TheHeroOfTime posted. The production value are solid, but the biggest issue I had was it was kinda easy. As in I didn't get hit even fucking once. There were a few close calls here and there, and I even panic shot a few times, but I never got hit. And I didn't run out of ammo either. Make no mistake the zombies still do take a lot of headshots to the head to kill them though, the problem is there was too much room to evade them. There was more to the demo I didn't explore but that's because I didn't know it would end you meet up with marvin after he calls you to meet up, so if there was a licker in the demo I didn't see/fight it. Sure it could be just that they made the demo around game journo difficultly but even then I doubt it would be raised high enough to make it challenging.

Edit: I check the other rooms I missed later today just in case, gonna take a nap first.
Noticed this too. I got bit a few times yesterday when I played the PS4 demo, but today when I played the PC demo and knew the game better none of them got me and I didn't run low on ammo.

All you have to do is plug the HDMI cable and boom, you no longer will ever have to hook up a console to the television; it has a PC now.

Because I like using my PC at a table/desk, like a normal person. My coffee table is too low for ideal mouse and keyboard use. Windows and a lot of the programs also scale poorly to 4K. Also, I can't fap to porn in the living room.

You can hook both and switch displays, though. Provided distance isn't an issue with cabling.

Actually, my PC IS hooked up to the TV. But it's with 60 to 70 feet of HDMI and a wireless mouse and keyboard connected to a 35 foot USB repeater cable (connected to the wireless dongle) that goes from the bedroom to the living room. Too much lag for playing, but fine for movies and such.
