In Inside Godhood, we’ll take a deep dive in our upcoming god game:
Godhood.
One of the Abbey Games monks will walk you through some of the great things you’re going to be doing in
Godhood.
This time we'll talk about
your Disciples.
-----------
Hi young gods, Rick here again!
Your Godhood deity is
not all-powerful. You’re an idea that exists within
people.
As such, you affect the world through your
Worshippers and your
Disciples.
Worshippers form the masses that, in their prayers, raise your
God Level and increase your power.
Converting new Worshippers to your religion is one of your primary goals in Godhood.
The ones to do so are the
Disciples.
These powerful apostles are skilled in
the Sacrament: a ritual conflict between two religions that determines which God is
strongest!
Victory grants many rewards, including (freshly converted!) Worshippers.
While Worshippers are a useful
resource, each Disciple is a
unique hero of your faith.
Each has their own
Class, a Disciple
Level to advance, and a number of
Abilities &
Traits.
Your religion can support around 6 or 7 Disciples at a time.

-----------
Marala, a Disciple from my game, is a talented
Rage Prophet that harnesses the power of pure pagan rage to punish her enemies.
Since she has the
Warmonger Trait, she prays to me for opportunities to trash her enemies, and tends to get into fistfights (very sacred ones!) with my other Disciples.

Cipac, another one of my Disciples, is a mystical
Weaver. Able to affect the dreams of others, I had him specialize in causing his enemies crippling
nightmares. However, due to my overreliance on his abilities he’s become
exhausted and is prone to falling asleep
himself.

Disciples level up and develop their abilities by participating in the Sacrament and performing Rituals in your honor.
However, each Disciple has a
Mind of their own, and are not in your direct control.
Disciples make their own decisions on how to best spend their days, develop their abilities and act in the Sacrament.
You, as their god, can
inspire your Disciples into taking actions of your choosing.
Still, sometimes it’s just
easier to ignore the booming voice from the heavens telling you what to do!
Disciples of
low Faith have a high chance of doing exactly that: they might simply disregard your inspirations... or even act against you!
There's a number of ways to avoid this, the main one is to take heed of a Disciples’
Prayers: requests of their God.
Marala often prays for glorious victory in a
Sacrament, while Cipac prayed for permission to take a well-deserved
rest.
One wonders what a
Lustful Disciple might pray for...
Be sure to listen to Disciples'
Prayers and secure
victory in Sacraments to keep them of
high Faith, so they'll take heed of your
divine Inspirations.
(We'll go more in-depth on the Mind and inspiring Disciples in later editions of Inside Godhood!)
Your Disciples will have many more exciting
classes,
abilities and
traits to discover and combine into unique door-kicking missionaries.
We'll be revealing many of these during the
Kickstarter, so keep an eye out!
-----------
And that’s it!
What sort of Disciples will lead your religion to greatness?
Trust me, you’re going to need a Rage Prophet to go with that War Commandment.
