I don't have any NPCs in my party. Perhaps it's a bug? Is recruiting her the only way to resolve this quest? This is the only quest in the game I really dislike, nothing makes sense, nobody will cooperate with me yet they all claim they want my help? Morraha should just tell you what the password is and the princess should just say thank you for rescuing me and then go home, what is the purpose of having to remove one of your party members, bring the princess home, then run back to wherever your party member went to re-recruit them? It's just tedious running around to finish a quest you already completed even if it works properly.

That's not how it worked originally. She just went home on her own (or rather, she remained around IIRC, but killing the bosses sufficed). Did you kill both Shelach and the Psychopomp?
When I completed Grimoire in 2017, the only means of rescuing Princess Dahlia was to remove a party member, recruit her, and run back to the Khan with Dahlia as a party member. This was the only time in the game that I needed to violate my "no NPC party members" rule. Though, of course, it's possible that Cleve had changed the way this works from the pre-release version or that it has since been changed for Grimoire v2.

- How do you get into the Evil Place at midnight in the Raven Wildes?

The Raven Wildes place:
You need to explore the Necropolis. One of the tombs (little square areas down below with the demon) there has the password. Also, quite conveniently, just before going to the Wildes, I learned that if you click the word Grimoire on the main screen, you get an overview of your progress AND what time it is. So you come to the hut with the password, rest in front of it until it's midnight, then go in.

Which Necropolis are you talking about? The Dark Warren level underneath Raven Wildes?

Anyone found the password for the Theosophist Lodge in the Gideon Maze? Apparently it was added in V2 - doesn't appear on older map screenshots.

You get it when you acquire the unicorn statue. The password is

So no luck so far in getting one of my party members to scribe ‘Raise Dead’. At 0-5 inscription is it even possible to “eventually” learn the spell?

The Bronze Cauldron NPC has a scroll of raise dead but it’s out of my price range right now.

I’m really not trying to lose my Aeorb Sage.

Even with 100 inscription, it still takes me 10-20 tries to learn a scribe 90+ spell. I'm *highly* doubtful that you'll be able to scribe something while being significantly below the scribe limit.

But are you still gaining inscription points while failing to scribe it? Because in that case...

Yes. This is an escort mission. For the purposes of her safety, you must dismiss a party member and have Dahlia join and bring her to the palace.

That's not how it worked originally. She just went home on her own (or rather, she remained around IIRC, but killing the bosses sufficed). Did you kill both Shelach and the Psychopomp?

Yeah. The funny thing is I went back to talk to Morraha and according to her the princess has been rescued and is back home.

I stumbled upon the artsy ending while exploring. It's interesting but not a particularly satisfying ending, I'm going to keep going and see what else I can figure out. Lots of password places I can't get into. Can anyone give me a hint about where to find the name of the genie?

Nobody knows. Cleve said that the name and the codes for the wishes can be found with Mindread - the question is whose mind should be read. The Djinn is blank.

People found the name in the resource files, but not in the game itself AFAIK.

I found a thing about a genies name in the chambers below the palace but you need Ancient History to read it and I don't have anyone with that skill.

That sounds like working as designed. If you don't recruit Morraha right away, she returns to the palace on her own. That's good that Morraha is reporting her as back at the Imperial Palace now, it means she should be encountered there. Assume while you were fighting your way back out of Samhain the Princess stealthed out on her own.

The artsy ending is purely there for the uniqueness. Not a real ending or conclusion, just something really off the wall I always wanted to put into the game. A trillion years in the future, all these problems will be over one way or another.

The name of the genie should now be in three different places. You're bound to find one of them. As always, a good sage in invaluable.

There are also rings and magic items that will bump you up to very high scribe skill.

Does anyone remember how to access the Spiral Deathtrap through the Hold of Knossos? I already got the Knossos tablet itself, slept in the place with the evil face flower, etc. Also put some stuff on the pressure plate there, but the gate remains closed.

EDIT: Okay, I guess I closed the pit too early and cannot get to Spiral Deathtrap. Looks like there is only a normal loot chest there that I miss out on anyway. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1107532654

This is all as designed behavior but I think you have raised a good point, the treasure may be kind of mediocre having gone through the whole Spiral Deathtrap. I assumed 95% of players will press the button before they fall down that pit. So I wanted the treasure in Spiral Deathtrap to be unique. May edit this before next update.

I haven’t gained a single inscription skill point at all while failing to learn Raise Dead.

You could recruit an NPC and come back to get the Aeorb when you have a Raise Dead item - there are quite a lot of them.

I was actually thinking about that. Dismissed party members head back to the Shrine of the Raptor iirc? I wonder if that also applies to dead party members.

I went back and checked, she is still not there, Khan still saying she is a prisoner. It does seem like something went wrong with this whole quest chain for me, since others didn't have the same problems I did, like Morraha not giving up the password.

I did want to say about that ending, that the scene you painted of the future had a loneliness and undefined menace to it and reminded me of something out of an HG Wells story. Especially liked the line where the sudden illumination reveals a huge thing hanging in the sky before the darkness covers it up again. I thought it was top notch, glad it made it into the game.

Never tried it, but I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be a difference. And you might want to savescum when opening treasure chests you come along.

Though the problem might be that most Raise Dead stuff are scrolls and spellbooks. I'm trying to remember other items that do that, but only the Phoenix Feather comes to mind which you get at the end of Knossos (Crescent Woods -> Barrower Cave -> Gideon -> Knossos). It might be too hard for a low level party though.

It's probably better to increase your incantation skill (for scrolls) and your scribing skill (for spellbooks) instead of waiting for an item, for which you also need a skill (invocation).

Actually, your best bet is probably finding the Read Magic spellbook or scrolls, so you can scribe the Raise Dead spellbook.

I think I needed something like 20 tries for that one (with Read Magic and 100 Scribe).

Though I'm not sure if Time Stop actually works. When I cast it at Strength 5, the icon appears on the screen, but the monsters continue attacking. When I use the Time Stop card instead, I think it actually freezes them.

Does anyone know where to find some milk for the owl? And what happens when you do?

It's one of the special mini-quests, so you can return to him for XP and recognition. He also wants something else along with the milk.

The location is in one of the end game areas. Do you want a spoiler, or keep exploring a little?

I think I'm nearing the end of the game. Got 8 tablets slotted in and ready to roll. I already gave the owl the other item because I had a couple lying around, so if the milk is somewhere after the tablet room, I'll probably find it. But if I have to backtrack to get it, go ahead and spoil it. The feathery dude is too dang cute to skip the quest, but I'm not really looking forward to combing the entire map in search for a glass of milk

OK, I think you are good. It is in an area after the Pendulum Hall. Good luck retrieving the milk.

Actually, there is a Phoenix Feather in Samhain Underworld, pretty early on. It's behind a gate with a combination lock - the combination is on the same floor. Except you will probably have to look up the combination in the walkthrough, because you need a high Ancient Lore skill to get it.

3 questions.

1) Cursed items are basicly useless, right? You cannot de-curse them so the natural thing to do is to sell them I guess?

2) If I designate a house in Crowl as my storage place and dump items on the ground will I always find them there or they disappear after a while?

3) This is plot related:
I'm at the Samhain Mauseoleum and there is a puzzle about the 7 virtues of a knight, as far as I understand it's related to the book of catechism you find in that same map, now this book should be interpreted by a knight. Where do I find this knight?

1) Cursed items cannot be un-equipped, but it doesn't mean they are necessarily bad. I have a few cursed items equipped because they're awesome.

2) They will remain.

3) The Eyrie.
