Both Revelations games sucked, they are dumbed down versions of RE4/5/6 made to appeal horror fans who don't care about good combat mechanics and enemy design.

Does the Re2 remake have some nice alternate costumes, as is the tradition of all things Resident evil?

So far my personal favourites have been Rev1 fashion shows:

jpg

The weeaboo on the left is a jackass named Keith, the YMCA on the right is fan favourite Chris Roidfield and the stripper pirate in the middle is a fashion statement named Jessica. Now thats her alternate one, this is her default combat-approved field gear:

Thats a diving suit!

Also, honorable mentions go to Rev 2 Claire sex cowboy, Moiras ninja-bikini, RE 5 Roidfield S&M dungeon master outfit and finally Re0 Rebecca Capcom cheerleader.

Resident Evil 2 Ships 3 Million Units Worldwide in First Week of Sales!
- Survival-horror masterpiece enthralls the world in high-tech revival -

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Resident Evil 2 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, and PC has shipped 3 million units globally.
The Resident Evil franchise features survival horror games in which players utilize a variety of weapons and other items to escape terrifying situations. Cumulative sales of the games in the series now total 88 million units* since the first title debuted in 1996. More than 20 years later, continuous support from the passionate fan base across the globe makes it Capcom's flagship game series. *As of January 28, 2019
Originally released in 1998, Resident Evil 2 went on to achieve cumulative sales of 4.96 million units, making it the fourth best-selling game in the Resident Evil franchise. In the 2019 release, Capcom used its cutting-edge R&D facilities to build the game completely from the ground up for current-generation game platforms. In addition to visual effects, including detailed, photo-realistic graphics made possible with RE ENGINE, Capcom's proprietary development engine, the title provides players with a fresh horror experience via audio featuring Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 and real-time sound image rendering that utilizes binaural technology. Resident Evil 2 garnered mass attention prior to release, being honored with Best of Show in the Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2018—as judged by major game media outlets from around the globe—as well as boasting over 4.7 million downloads for its "1-Shot Demo," propelling sales to 3 million units worldwide in the title's first week. Further, with Resident Evil 7 biohazard (released in January 2017) having now gone on to sell a cumulative 6 million units*, Capcom looks to achieve similar, long-term sales for Resident Evil 2 as well. *As of December 31, 2018
Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all stakeholders by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences.

That's it? Lower than than RE5 (4 millions) and RE6 (4.5 millions) first weeks, and those games had no PC version at release.

Resident Evil 4, 5 & 6 are the best selling Resident Evil games. No RE games before and after sold as well as them. Human beings prefer to play action over survival horror.

Will there be a RE game that is going to sell more than RE5?
RE6 came close, but I'm actually more interested to seeing which one made more profit & revenue.

They'll never outsell RE5 & RE6 again unless they make a real action Resident Evil game again. It's odd that Capcom let the criticism get to them to start making more "survival horror" RE, when the action ones sold far better.

How many people worked on RE 6?

If memory serves it was an absurd amount, around 1000 or so.

I know but apparently RE2 Remake is a big-budget title. 3 millions shipped units on the first week isn't impressive for an AAA game.

The most notable tidbit from last week’s Capcom NHK broadcast is that there were a whopping 800 (eight-hundred) people on #RE2 remake’s development.

We don't know what the development costs are or what their expectations are. Right now, it has sold more than RE7's first week sales, and about half of RE7's lifetime sales so far. Capcom seems content with the sales though. IIRC, they outlined their 2019 strategy and RE2 is fitting the bill so far. Monster Hunter World already made them a lot more money than expected, and RE2 is only single player while other AAA games tend to be multiplayer.

Didn't capcom state they expected RE7 lifetime sales to be 10 million? Considering it's at about 6 million right now, it has undersold in both short term and long term?

It boggles one's mind how out of touch these company analysts are. A toddler could tell you that a survival horror game is not selling 10 million copies in this day and age. Did any recent game sell more than 10 million besides Skyrim and GTA 5?

I've been using Claire's motorcycle leather outfit, and I like it. I think her wearing it makes it a bit more believable that she can survive some of the stuff she goes through (like getting blown across the street by that explosion in the beginning).

Plus, her butt looks quite nice in it.

I only remember it being below expectations. I don't know what their expectations were

jap companies are always disappointed with sales targets because the japanese charmen see the numbers western AAA's do and want that, so they order their japanese publishers to set those kind of numbers as targets, which they rarely meet. FF15 is closing in on 10 million units sold (probably a few million more by now) and it was considered enough of a failure to fire its project director.

Meanwhile Nintendo games like Mario Kart/Party/etc and Zelda stuff sell like 3x times what other japanese IPs do that are currently trying to ape western AAA strategies.

Mario Kart wii sold 40 million units lmao. That's close to FIFA numbers I think, and FIFA is like the best selling franchise in history.

Loads: Monster Hunter World, Red Dead Redemption 2, PUBG, every new CoD, the odd Assassin's Creed game, Fallout 4, Pokemon [the new one], yearly FIFA game, Mario Kart fucking whatever, Zelda Breath of The Wild. That's not an exhaustive list either.

Resident Evil 6. It was released after Skyrim.
8.7 million, any number near 10 counts Steam sales twice. Capcom doesn't list PC in the RE6 platforms on their platinum sales site, but it is included, folded into the "DL" designation. (If PC was counted separately, it would have its own platinum entry already since it sold more than 1 mill on Steam.)
