And i always thought that you are shit, yet here you are, still wasting oxygen.

People that couldn't get any useful information from the retarded reviews are simply put, mentally deficient .
When I want a review, I come to the codex you retarded Bulgarian. Go back to your shithole country
Meh,at my gamez levelz you don't need any reviews for info. I know what shit i like and don't need to some fag to tell to buy or not to buy. Also most Codex reviews come two weeks after i finished replaying the game, still they are pretty entertaining read. As for steam reviews....well they contain more information than to buy or not.
Now stop wasting my time and go pester some german women nigga.

I don't think comparing 3rd party exclusivity to 1st party exclusivity is fair. Valve can do whatever it wants with its games and that is what it did, Epic did the same with Fortnite and that was not an issue.

Valve has never had any 3rd party exclusives? Think hard before you answer.

Are you just extremely oblivious and don't notice the store client launching when you start the game from your desktop? Or are you pretending to be stupid? Only way you are going to launch a game bought through a client like steam, epic, origin, etc without having the client running is by installing a crack, at which point you may as well pirate it.
Pretty sure there are games on Steam that you can launch without the client. The Steam "DRM" is an entirely optional feature devs can use if they want.

Now resume your piling on about how I'm thick and just NOT understand.
You sorta forgot to add where's the pro-consumerism in all of that. Your post pretty much says that fighting anti-consumerism with bigger anti-consumerism is ok because that's the way for one anti-consumerist to fight the other. Uh, ok. And that's completely besides the fact that it's a very shallow way of looking at the issue.

It's the same "argument" you often see people here making in favour of objectively shitty nu-old crpg renaissance crpgs. "Bros support this shit game because we should do it as crpg fans, if we don't support this shit game true crpgs will die and supporting shit games will obviously lead to not-shit games being made". It's not that this argument is stupid (although it is), it's just that it's very... childish and naive?

Also, price-fixing has been a huge problem in gaming since, like, forever. I wouldn't really count on getting significantly better deals because "competition is always good" magic.

There are, not denying that. But they are the exception rather than the rule. Here is an example of me trying to launch a copy of Quake I bought off of steam, without having steam running. And it is especially unlikely for any modern games to launch without steam.

You guys may not know nor care, but the real funny thing is Epic store fucking does not sell their games in China because Tencent obviously doesn't want them to operate there as it will compete with Tencent's own store Wegame (which has a pathetic amount of games because the CCP doesn't approve games for Tencent lol including Metro Exodus). So Deep Silver and any other devs/publishers going Epic store exclusive have essentially given up the whole Chinese market.

But hey if they can afford to piss off the whole Steam community might as well piss off another couple of millions of commie gamers don't they.

So the same as Steam which also doesn't sell its games in China (legally)?

No, Steam doesn't block you at all if you want to buy things there while you are in China. Epic store if you try to buy something there you will just get "this product is not available in your region".

how about providing a better service? that's how gayben and his pals got people to start buying games

ironically Steam is the most user and consumer friendly storefront on PC out now. User reviews, forums, communities, guides, seamless mod support, all shit other storefronts dont want you to have.

Here is why Wallmart is awesome and why you should use only Wallmart.

Fuck off with "the most friendly", Since like 3 years ago they removed possibility of not updating your games. Which means every single Steam game is FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT when it comes to modding because you never know hour when your modded game just stop working.

Nice one, I was planning to buy it but considering the news I won't. And lmao at people defending "competition" that doesn't even have user reviews, oh yeah, that'll come later and it'll be an opt-in by developers.

Strong competition :salute::salute::salute:

Nigga reviews on digital store these days are as useful as socialism for economy.
If you buy products based on shop reviews then you may as well kill yourself because earth is to small for huge retards like you.

Just post a single positive for the consumer in all of this. Go on.

Competition to Steam.
Not using shitty bloatware service called Steam.
IT HAS ABILITY TO STOP GAME UPDATES which instantly makes it better store

dick pic of offhand steam keys stores

Every physical copy of exodus will come with such keys which emans Epic store will soon start to sell keys and gifts which makes this point completely moot.

Valve has never had any 3rd party exclusives? Think hard before you answer.

Yeah like WTF those niggers are thinking. Like literally every single game out there released on PC has almost always Steam exclusivity. You can't buy most of Steam games on GOG or any other service.

"BUT IT IS CHOICE OF DEVELOPERS !!!!"

Nigga so is Exodus devs choice too to not release it on Steam. They got better deal and shafted Steam

TLDR

You certainly won't have to worry about mods breaking with Epic's store, no. Not for the reasons you think though..

Well from what i read you can switch off game updates. Which means that even if it requires online to play games it is still better than steam for mods.

At least in one case here you won't need to crack game just to mod game.

Option 1: form own opinion based on gameplay videos or Let's Plays. :incline:
Option 2: fake and paid reviews by the journalists. :decline:

Option 3: get a general idea of what the game is like based on Steam reviews.

I generally tend to go with the first option but I'd much prefer having the third than not. So fuck off with that Codex elitist attitude, every once in a while there's a bunch of good user reviews out there which are definitely more trustworthy than the alternative.

Which is exactly my point.
In era when you can read specific forums dedicated to genres of games and having literally years of gameplay from pros to 0ros before you buy, doing purchase on steam reviews or journos is retarded.

But what exactly is the benefit for customers of not having them? So Ubisoft and other retarded devs can hide issues to the best of their ability?

The real benefit is you turning to Perkel for non-retarded opinions on games.

I can't believe some idiots defend Epic Games for not implementing user reviews in their store. You have to be a complete imbecile to think that they did it for sake of customers, they did it because they working with Tencent - a Chinese corporation controlled by Communist Party of China. There no reviews because political censorship, not because *insert reason related to gaming*, Epic Games was lazy to hire more moderators for deleting political trolling, so they just didn't implemented review system at all.

This is why Steam added the option for devs to include rollback versions.

Nah, as I mentioned before, Epic Store does not even operate in China (they even say so on their website), mainly because Tencent does not want Epic Store to compete with their own gamestore WeGame. Tencent doesn't give a shit of what Epic or its player base does on forums or reviews or whatever.

Epic does not allow user reviews just because they want to woo more developers and publishers to sell games on it because they "protect them from harsh consumers" lol.

This reminds me of the CurrentC failure. It was trying to get a lot of retailers using it because it can "skip the credit card fees" and get better access to consumer information. Completely vendor-oriented rather than consumer-based. Got utterly destroyed by Applepay and Google Wallet.

And what this have to do with no ability to switch off updates ?
Dunno. But rollback exists to mitigate the problem, although it doesn't solve it. Yes it's shit that you can't disable updates. I don't think the solution is moving to a platform with 90% less features though.

So this is where your moronism comes from? I see.

Valve never bribed any third party for an exclusive. Ever. Every company that has ever used steamworks has done it because it was free, convenient and useful. Not because they got bribed.
Get the difference now?

Well, at least you can pause the automatic update by setting it to launch only. Would prefer if they just let you deny the update, but maybe it's some kind of security thing?

Well if i now have a choice between GOG Epic and Steam. Steam would be my last choice while GOG first.

Also what "features" you speak of.
Workshop ? Which is inferior version of Nexus
frends/chat/voice chat which is inferior version of discord ?
"community" which is retarded brother of gamefaqs community ?
or screenshots you can make by pressing printscreen or in any other overlay like msi afterburner.

That still doesn't get you anywhere. Only way you can "fix it" is by cracking the game.
