Developed by Black Shamrock, the self-proclaimed "up-and-coming RPG specialists": http://www.gamasutra.com/view/press..._RuneQuest_To_Life_With_AllNew_Video_Game.php

Black Shamrock To Bring Beloved Fantasy Role-Playing Adventure RuneQuest To Life With All-New Video Game

Dublin, 11th March 2019 – After 40 years as a beloved role-playing adventure series, Chaosium Inc. is partnering with Dublin-based developer Black Shamrock to bring RuneQuest into the 21st century – as a video game RPG. Black Shamrock is developing an all new RPG adventure based on the work of legendary fantasy game designer and world-builder Greg Stafford for the very first time.

Get ready to enter RuneQuest’s legendary setting of Glorantha, a vibrant world with its own history, religion and lore. Glorantha has provided the setting for generations of gamemasters and will now be the basis for Black Shamrock’s new RPG adventure.

Olivier Masclef, Managing Director from Black Shamrock comments: “We’re so excited to be working on such a legendary fantasy role-playing world and take very seriously the trust that Chaosium has placed with us. As up-and-coming RPG specialists, the opportunity to bring the world of Glorantha to life is a dream come true.”

"We cannot be more excited than to be working together with Black Shamrock to bring the fantastic setting of Glorantha to life as a video game. With its vibrant characters and incredible mythology, this is what RuneQuest fans have been waiting for since RPG video games were invented!" says Jeff Richard, Creative Director of Chaosium.

Black Shamrock is also working on Paranoia CRPG and helping development of Cyanide's Werewolf action RPG. Based on Linkedin profiles, Paranoia or this RuneQuest CRPG might be an isometric RPG. Or maybe both, considering the size of the studio?

BRP/RuneQuest is a great system and Glorantha is one of the deeper and more realized settings, but I'm really dubious about how a true adaptation would translate to a CRPG; advancement doesn't really have the D&D Skinner Box going for it for one thing, the power curve is much, much flatter, and if you can't lose a limb, it's not RuneQuest/BRP. But hey, if it's something a little a long the lines of KoDP, with a focus on individual characters vs. a whole tribe I'm down.

Rogue-like with perma-death and short campaigns with end points like Oregon Trail?

Chaosium VPs' posts also suggest that this project is very early in development:

This happy news is the outcome of why after Gen Con last year my colleague Jeff Richard and I stopped in Dublin on the way home (the lovely local Guinness was just a pleasant side benefit).

Chaosium is working with a great team at Black Shamrock, which includes hard core RQ/Glorantha fans with a deep understanding and love of the setting. We're excited about the possibilities!

So there is this project I've been putting together for the last few months...

From comments ha says that this has "Uncle Ken [Rolston]’s approval," whatever it means.

(And I wondered what Ken is up to these days, apparently he's actually retired.)

Black Shamrock is seeking a Lead Game Designer to join our team in Dublin and work on an epic new RPG being developed here.

Most other job postings still suggest outsourcing/co-development jobs.

(Their high turnover rate, as pointed out in Paranoia CRPG thread, shows, when I'm digging about this game or Paranoia I see many developers only work there for some months. Linkedin listings suggest that Creative Directors seem to come and go almost yearly basis. Art Director on this game left last year.)

Anything new about this project? Idea of bronze age crpg sounds very interesting to me.

It seems to be still in development, but I won't have high hopes after seeing how Paranoia turned out.

Description from a quest designer's portfolio: https://rdbwork.wixsite.com/portfolio

RuneQuest is a digital adaptation of Chaosium's Bronze Age Fantasy RPG by the same name.

I am currently working directly with Jeff Richards, one the original creators of the IP and the CEO of Chaosium, on creating a strong narrative for the game as well as working with game design creating the mechanics that will be used to bring the world to life.

They have posted yet another job posting looking for Lead Game Designer.

Well putting 'experiences of designing "an RPG style game"' in 'good to have' not in 'requirements' doesn't give you confidence.
