Im sitting in awesome cathedra.
And like with all church you can not go to any upper levels or balconies, not even on the stairs to some mezzanine.

Do you know any fps games where you can experience the awe of roaming on cathedral-esque buildings?

I ve play hexen heretic and painkiller.

The Hitman series has a lot of churches. Hitman 2 especially, the church home base in that game is pretty large.
Gothic 2 and Risen have cathedrals for their respective factions.
EYE: Divine Cybermancy has a cyberpunk home base cathedral, sort of.
Arma games have churches, but they are usually small.
Max Payne games have some missions located inside churches.
Some of these are not FPS, obviously.

There's the templar compound in Deus Ex.

And it may not be trinitarian (or one's favourite game), but I really liked gazing up at the ceiling of the mosque in Invisible War. The music was nice, too.
