Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy

An 18-minute video announcing the following: The 21-year old speedrun record for E1M1 of Doom has finally been broken, going from 0:09 to 0:08.

The reason I'm linking to the video is the sheer pompousness of the narrator, where he attempts to glorify, elevate and justify the act of speedrunning... while casually mentioning that it took over a year and 50.000 attempts to get this one 'magical' speedrun. He also blasts gaming media for not covering the story.

For those interested, the original speedrun record is at 3:20. The new speedrun is at 16:37 and the rest is a lot of babble, but the gist of it is this: Due to random enemy movement and the clever usage of speed boosts when taking damage, the old record was finally beaten.

This goes double for the retarded speedruns where the competition is a slot machine you keep playing until a dozen RNG factors align to give you a 1 second boost.

Just the speedrun:

Here's another bone I have to pick with the speedrun community: They claim that it's about "perfection", yet they can't perform basic math: 1998+22 = 2019?!?

Even I am being optimistic when I stated "21-year old speedrun", as the odds are against me.
