Meanwhile one of Cyberpunk's leads says they're still figuring out how the open world aspect of the game is going to play out when we're one year away from release, after who knows how many changes in direction/management.
yikes. I cant wait to see the half baked shit systems they throw in at the last minute like witcher 3

Holy shit. Like, for real holy shit. They have exactly Witcher 3 finished to see what worked and what not about open world aspect for FOUR years. Top notch management and stickin' to da vizion, CDPR. /Pol/tards work hard and burn a fuckton of money to deny basic planning.

Fancier but not better. I'm pretty sure the open world aspect will be filled with activities and scripted encounters of better variety but since they have no idea how to do an open world game (still, FFS), it'll suck.

Somebody ought to invent a genre of science fiction about abuse of corporate power, it would be interesting

The TV show Incorporated tried exactly that (well at least everything else besides the love-plot was about how people fuck over each other in a literally cuthroat company environment in a fucked up world where corporations act like goverments/nations on a mostly ruined Earth)

Rather than take off whenever they’d like, CD Projekt Red’s developers have to limit their vacation to specific times in 2019. One period will be this summer, right after E3, while another will be in the winter.

What a weird complaint. Isn't that normal? We get 3-5 weeks of vacation time in Europe and it's mostly split between summer and winter so people tend to save their days to take, you know, straight two weeks off when everyone else is also on holiday to take trips, etc. If you work national holidays I assume you're also compensated for it more.

It's normal and regulated in Poland. Depending on the number of years you have worked in total - you have either 20 or 26 days of paid leave yearly here, and at least 2 weeks out of that need to be in one long stretch. You have to agree when exactly with the employer, but he has to agree on some date, can't delay forever. The employer pays big fines otherwise.

Bragging about that is like bragging "we pay our employees".

Two different showings seem too few. Should do at least 5 versions - 3 private and 2 public, sorted by prestigiousness.

Seriously now this game's development is turning into a Winds of Winter grade joke. Only Star Citizen is a bigger meme but that game is in a class of its own.

If they showed to the press the same as as to general public, game jurnos would have nothing to write articles/record videos about, basic marketing. They'll probably show jurnos demo 2 months later, like the last time.

The CD PROJEKT Group looks back at the beginning of the year

v-001-1024x576.jpeg

The CD PROJEKT Group posted 81 million PLN in consolidated sales revenues and 17.8 million PLN in net profit for the first quarter of 2019.

The most significant contribution to sales revenues was from ongoing strong sales of The Witcher 3, along with its expansion packs, and – to a lesser extent – GWENT and Thronebreaker. The Group’s earnings were also bolstered by the high volume of sales carried out on GOG.com.

In the first quarter of 2019 the Group directed its creative effort towards development of new releases and technologies, allocating 25 million PLN to these activities. The Group’s aggregate balance of R&D expenditures topped 264 million PLN.

The CD PROJEKT RED studio carried on with intensive development of Cyberpunk 2077, with more than 400 people currently involved in the project.

In addition to developing the game, the Group was also busy setting up CD PROJEKT RED STORE through which it aims to reach a broad community of fans of the Studio’s products. The store launched in early May, offering quality apparel, accessories and figurines inspired by CD PROJEKT RED videogames.

In recent quarters the activities of GOG focused on development of GOG Galaxy 2.0. The technology, which was publicly unveiled on 22 May 2019, provides a single point of access to all purchased games, enabling communication with buddies and tracking their progress regardless of their preferred gaming platforms. GOG Galaxy 2.0 will be available to all PC and console gamers, extending beyond the GOG.com user community. It provides a way to overcome the encroaching fragmentation of the gaming market, which is characterized by the emergence of new digital distribution channels and platform-exclusive releases.

We will be taking part in the upcoming edition of E3, which is shaping up to be the most important fair in CD PROJEKT’s history. We want to be even more prominent in Los Angeles than we were last year – remarks Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD PROJEKT.

CD PROJEKT is coming to E3 with a line-up of dedicated outreach events as well as a meeting space for the media (including prominent journalists and opinion leaders), business partners, investors and gamers. For the first time ever Cyberpunk 2077 will be showcased in the fair’s public exhibit hall.

400 devs are actually not that many, similar Ubisoft games are made by1000 people.

It is kinda obvious that it is not coming anywhere this year. Even the E3 will only be demo segment played by the devs.

Even 2020 mid year release is optimistic at this point.
